Jewellery - Kashmiri/Pathani ghoonghat jhoomar-tikka?

Does anyone have pictures of a Kashmiri/Pathani ghoonghat jhoomar-tikka?

It is like a large round jhoomar worn on the head and forehead taking up the space where you would traditionally be wearing two pieces of jewellery instead of one. It also has long delicate chains and bells (larian) that hang down forming a ghoonghat (veil) that covers the face of the bride.

I’ve only seen it worn in real life once during the 1999-2000 winter wedding season in Lahore and I think that’s what it is called… ghoonghat jhoomar-tikka?

this?? that bride is a bit creepy

Re: Jewellery - Kashmiri/Pathani ghoonghat jhoomar-tikka?

Thanks, but yikes!

That's not quite it... although, it might be a variation of it?

And I suspect the bride wasn't as creepy as the over-photoshoped photography made her out to be, or at least I hope so!

Re: Jewellery - Kashmiri/Pathani ghoonghat jhoomar-tikka?

Sorry my dear, not it it at all.

These designs are more of a Matha/Singhar Patti... the Ghoonghat is actually a gold ghooonghat that drapes on the brides face.

I really, really wish I had taken pictures to show gorgeous it looked!

Re: Jewellery - Kashmiri/Pathani ghoonghat jhoomar-tikka?

No, it is not like a kiran.... but more like a sehra worn by the groom, but it is made with gold chains or gold beads that form the individual strands or larian. These larian hang down covering the face or part of the face to one side only... the swept to one side look is particularly beautiful.
