Re: Jesus Christ!

Kaleem, have you ever thought that maybe no one can answer you because Jesus never said it?

Re: Jesus Christ!

What's up with previous Jew-bashing? I think there would be many that would be highly offended by some of the comments made. I don't understand how people can defend their own religion against comments such as that but spit them right back out at others as if they are nothing.

Re: Jesus Christ!

Mara: Apparently, many muslims think that they've earned that right. Its okay. They bash their own fellow muslims too when they "dare" to question their vast intelligence on miniscule aspects of Islam.

Re: Jesus Christ!

You would find in Bible (New American Standard Bible)

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. Job 1: 6

So if the sons of God can be used metaphoricaly for the angels in the above verse, why can’t for Jesus (AS).

Re: Jesus Christ!

Fatehahmad, Kaleem mentioned Jesus as making the statement. Your quotation also was not made by Jesus.

Re: Jesus Christ!

So what I quote from Bible was not correct or was it?

Re: Jesus Christ!

It unfortunately had no relevance to my question to Kaleem.

Re: Jesus Christ!

Wait that's no argument. Why would Jesus use the same phrase that the Bible uses for other individuals, on himself to proclaim himself as an actual SON of God? Didn't he know there could be confusion if he did that? Obviously, if the Bible is using the term "son of God" elsewhere and not referring to a biological child of sorts, then its plausible to extrapolate that same meaning to "son of God" when Jesus uses it to refer to himself.

Its like saying "I am blue" versus finding a leaflet somewhere saying "He was blue". Either way, the word "blue" is probably being used as "sad" whether it was used in the first person or third.

Re: Jesus Christ!

When Jesus DID use the term he used it in the context as “the only Son”. For example, Joh.3v18 “…one and only Son.

Re: Jesus Christ!

The actual workd used in greek is monogenes which means unique or one and only. Jesus (AS) was unique in a sence from other prophets/messengers that he was born without the faculty of his father. So the above verse you mentioned is talking about that unique personality of Jesus (AS) and not of him being a literal son of God.

Re: Jesus Christ!

Imperial Roman christianity had pagan origins ...they found it a conveniant way to dominate other people, where its message of obediance to ONE God personified by the Caeser would be used to its maximum potential....however the early christians I believe were the true believers ( surah Yasin mentions sahaba of Isa(as) ] who were mercilessly persecuted by the same Romans who would later claim to rule in its name.

Re: Jesus Christ!

I believe Jesus is the son of God. I trust Him.

Re: Jesus Christ!

Sorry to answer a bit late. Here goes the resourses.

Dr. Israar Ahmed's program "Bayaan -ul Quran". Dr. Shahid Masood's program "The End of Times" and "Hidden Truth". Dr Zakir Naik's program "Q&A on Islam".

Re: Jesus Christ!

Some basic facts:
- Original Language of Bible does not exist anymore (You loose some meaning / essence when you translate)
- Bible is collection of LOT of books / scriptures
- After cursification of Jesus (AH) the "new religion (aka Christianity)" virtually dissapeared. You might want to read up, how it was resurected :)
