I agree with you in theory, but party positions should be based on loyalty and not on experience/popularity. This is exactly the reason why you see PPP and PML likes keep getting divided in factions because loyal workers felt side lined and ended up starting their own factions.

Then again, I agree with you in theory, but ground realities are different. I would love to follow your example and do it like you say, but it’ll be much too hard to pull off. Can you imagine a talentless hack in a football/cricket team made captain just because he played a higher number of matches. Even if he is a good wicketkeeper/goalkeeper, is he leadership material, can he lead his team in the toughest of times? The best of days, and the worst of them?

Democracy is the answer to a lot of things. Unfortunately, it is not an answer to everything.

This is also the reason why JI never split into factions cause in that party, internal elections/nomination process always decides whose going to be get a higher position,

Believe me, you don’t want to get me started on JI. It is run like a mafia organization, down to the very core. Have you ever seen a JI member ever disagreeing with the ameer? Let alone a political worker. The only good thing they do is nominate and hold elections, and then it is all downhill from there. Then again, it is not so much a political party now, it’s been turned into more of a pressure group.

Everything is interim in my opinion. These positions more so. But tell me, how would you feel that if you founded a party, and it was then hijacked, you hold elections, and pushed out out of decision-making posts, and all that stuff. So much so, the political part you founded, turned into nothing you ever imagined. You know where that last happened? Jamat-e-Islami.

JH is thorough gentleman and still the best of many politicians. But his health seems to be not good, he was speaking broken sentences in last interview about mehran gate scandal. Keeping in view present circumtances Pakistan needs healthy politicians with sound mind and physical health. He should retire and spend rest of his life at home happily ever after:)

Imran was on Hamid Mir last night, and Hamid asked him the exact same questions, regarding ignoring the old guard, and bringing in supposed lotas. Imran clearly, and very eloquently said that PTI is not a club with restricted membership. Anyone is able to join. Its upto the members of the party to elect who they want to see as their representatives at the local, provincial and national level. For that, he clearly stated that elections will be held after the membership drive is over, in which, even the post of chairman will be up for grabs. He didnt specifically mention Javed Hashmi, but I reckon that if the chairmanship is up for grabs, then so will be the presidency.
