cool news! no one will ever dare try to spread rumours or create disharmony among the forces of Pakistan or within the army. good punishment for a very serious crime. all traitors should be dealt this way for treason. dont you guys think so?
That letter was sent to every MNA? A sad day for Pakistan's Judiciary...
Re: Javed Hashmi gets 23 yrs of RI
Yup. :k:
P.S. The PML (N) did say the other day after the Shabhaz judgement that it had regained confidence in the Pakistani judicial system, so they shouldn’t start grumbing now. ![]()
What a sick joke. Trial in prison in secret. ![]()
The assassination attempts on Gen.Musharraf and govt own statements proved that armymen were dissatisfied with him. Even if the Hashmi letter was bogus, there was no need to conduct a trial in prison.
Zia had his false conviction of Bhutto and now Musharraf showing his Zia colors with this.
A sad day for Pakistan and yet another day of infamy for our judiciary.
Musharraf is going the Zia way.
I think this is a wrong move by Musharraf. The trial should've been open. The way it has been handled, it always looked like there could only be one judgement. And that's bad news for Javed Hashmi.
Should have been executed, waste of jail space
There is no freedom of expression nor democracy in Pakistan! Generals get away with everything, even if they end up breaking the country...No inquiry, no punishments. Ofcourse, they are angels! and this country is for jageerdars, waderas and generals. They all come to take turns and fool the nation.
Normal educated people, like the above are supporting this disgusting and pathetic display of dictatorship by musharraf.
We are indeed doomed as a nation when someone, anyone gets any jail time for a letter. Words are the armys biggest enemy. Don't for a moment think the army cares for pakistan. It cares only for its own power. it loves the politicians that support army and jails, kills those who do not. It is the ultimate jagirdari and wadera system in pakistan today. I spit on such an anti-pakistan instituion. It goes against everything jinnah stood for.
Allah will have no sympathy for our country.

why do i feel uneasy agreeing with you?
pakistani generals are the worst of paksitani public and they are the ones that need to be eliminated.
people people...they are going to appeal in the higher courts and of course thats going to be an open trial. this was the first judgement, you think javed hashmi is such a good boy that he wont try to save his arse?
Islamabad,
the generals responsible for breaking the country were never tried because they were cared for by Bhutto, who was a civilian leader, and the real reason behind the breaking of the country.
and guys,
the sad day wasnt yesterday, it was the day when an ordinary civilian of Pakistan stepped out of his shoes and went a bit too far trying to 'serve' democracy. do you think javed hashmi is an angel...? he didnt make it to a high office this election and so the fuss...why did he dare try to start mutiny within the army? it's a HUGE crime. the army is what represents the defense, independence and survival of the country. these politicians blow the bugle of serving the people and all that crap while the truth is they will sell Pakistan if need be! and i think defaming the army was like selling pakistan for personal gain and popularity.
Malik73,
thanks. yeah youre right. they better stop whining now.
Badsha,
not a bad idea :D

Yeah Grand News. Pakistan Zindabad! And as your Islamabad and Imad Ali's comments... Guys get a life! Pakistan has more democracy and freedoms then France where you cant wear a hijab, Christians cant wear crosses or sheiks: turbans.
Pakistan has more freedom of speech were atleast you can pray in peacy without being nabbed by the CIA or being written-off as a suspected terrorist!
Pakistan has more freedoms then the UK where Muslims are the butt of evey Anti-PC(Politically Correct) Joke, the BNP : British National Party has a campaign in which thier leaflet spells out PAKI'S OUT- AND TAKE THE CAMMEL FU***ERS WITH YOU!... Where accroding to a report by their commision for racial equality, muslims are more likely to be held for questioning without due cause, or morelikely to be under scrutiny of intelligence officers. "WHY?"... And accoring to a recent progrm by Channel 4, one of their national channels a documentary revealed how new recruits boasted about using the unifrom to intimidate Pakis and Muslims and how they would love to go kill a Paki if the chance presented itself!....
You call that safe, Free, Democratic?
What Bull, please wake-up.. Sorry Bush, Blair but i am fine and dandy here in our Pakistan, we like it because its free!
Pakistan Zindabad!
What a pile of crap. The US closes a newspaper for 60 days in Iraq for lying and inciting violence, and a civil war erupts as a third rate cleric who had a rival cleric murdered has his militia take to the streets and takes a country tot he brink of civil war while very one argues "freedom of speech".
Funny how sedition and insurrection has one meaning in one country, but no meaning in another.
I believe I smell some hypocricy!
If so smell hypocricy here then I suggest you look at America's foreign policy...the stench is so bad it'll knock you out.
No, you are still smelling muslim hypocrisy.
:k:
Exactly my thoughts.

Dictatorship, at its best :)
Musharraf should change his name to Zia ul Haq. Shame on him.
I wonder if there would ever be real democracy?
