Japanese Hair Straightening

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

^ If my hair was totally untreated then I'd have tried the home kit although part of me thinks it's too good to be true especially when you consider that professional yuko costs around 300-350 and takes around 6-7 hours.

Having said that, I really want to see results from the home kit as it's got me curious :)

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

*I *know Raheela's in Brooklyn offers it :D

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

would u have phone number for any of those? I am not from that area and want to try it once I go there....

Thanks,

Sanna

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

Had my hair yuko’d yesterday and I’d forgotten just how long it takes. I was in there for over 7 hours but it was worth it

Pics:

Before yuko, just left to dry naturally hence why it looks so yucky.

Post yuko, just left to dry naturally with no styling products whatsoever (hence the flyaway hairs):

The finished product:

S’cuse the awful state of my root regrowth, wasn’t allowed to drye my hair before yuko’ing it but you can afterwards which is exactly what I’ll do next payday

Cannot wait to wash my hair tomorrow as I’m feeling a little greasy at the moment but am looking forward to being to have an extra 40 minutes in bed each morning and just being able to wash my hair and go

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

omg BC ur hair looks soooo beautiful... it worked out so good,, iluv it. :) thanx 4 sharing ur pic.

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

Brit chick ur hair looks fab! Very nice! :) Now i feel tempted to get the Yuko treatment done but ive got coloured hair so i dont think i can.:(

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

holy crap that’s gorgeous hair.. :hayaa:

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

brit chick your a tease now i want to have it done! It looks healthy and nice.

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

AND it does NOT look yucky in the first pic.. I’d kill for hair like that, curly/wavy OR straight..not messy like mine :naraz:

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

brit chick, you have got beautiful hair..i would love to do that..but my hair is towards the thinner side..so i can't experiment :(

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

Thanks for the compliments girls....I had my first hairwash post yuko last night and was terrified of getting it wet in case it went all curly again but my hair looks exactly the same as in the pics I posted. I just washed it and let it dry totally naturally with no styling products whatsoever. By the time I was ready for work it had dried totally straight and sleek.

When I start to get regrowth then I'll probably use a couple of drops of serum but that's all. It feels much healthier and soft too cos they lock in so many different vitamins and proteins into the hair shaft during the process that it's a conditioning treatment too. And I find that it doesn't get knotty or tangled either even when I go out in the most windy weather.

Amani - you can get hair yuko'd if it's coloured cos mine was. The only ask that it's not coloured in the month or so before getting yuko done.

Hope I've convinced you girls :)

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

Beautiful hair BritChick. I f my hair was only wavy like urs is in the first pic I wouldn't even get it straightened :D They don;t look yucky at all.

What do you use to tame the flyaways after the straightening?

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

Thanks Femme.

I don’t really use anything to tame the flyaways cos you can’t even see them, for some reason they look very prominent in the pic but in real life you can’t tell. However if I want a really glossy sheen then I do use a teen tiny drop of serum just brushed lightly over the top and that’s it.

All in all I heart my yuko’s hair. Although having said that I spent an hour tonging my hair last night before I went out

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

your hair looks absolutely amazing brit chick! i think it worked out so well for you mainly because you have really thick hair. the effect isnt flat at all.

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

Britchick you have tempted me to go for it again  so much for skipping it this yr!

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening

^:hehe: I was going to skip it this year too but when I worked out the time I would save each week then it seemed worth the pennies

Re: Japanese Hair Straightening
