That shouldn’t be excessive either..
She’s living there with the son, it’s not as tho she has her own cordoned off private area for herself (and besides here in the UK the girl often just moves into the boy’s bedroom ie one single room that’s already furnished, it’s obviously not normal for her to get her own kitchen when living at inlaws so don’t see why she’d need to bring extra appliances, furniture and so on)..
Like I said if they move into their own place both sides should share the cost..
