My friend is getting married next friday inshaALLAH and atlast I successfully convinced him to not to take jahaiz…

I hate this dowry thing… It’s not in Islam but but but, beside this, where is mard ki ghairat ? how can he take something from others ? Doesn’t it looks like (as in) begging ???

What’s your point of view ?

mehr should be what you can afford without putting too much strain on your financial resources…apnii Haisiyat ke mutaabiq mehr honii chaahiye.

True, but how can we change everyone’s mind? I know a lady who only have 2 sons, she is proud aka ghamandi.. she is looking for a bahu having a wealthy background to get heavy dowry… I am not disrespecting anyone.. but in that age who changes ? Impossible!!!

hum log to zakat nahi adaa kerte baqi baatein to bohat door ki koRi hain… insan ki khaslatein kabhi nahi nikaali jaa sakti jab tak ke wo khudsaakhta-tor pe baa-shaoor na hojaye… ya by-birth hi nafees ho :slight_smile:

Bhai haq-mehr is liye ziada demand kiya jata hai kyunke baap dara hua hota hai apni beti ke future ko leke.. halake khush-hona chahiyey.. yehi to puri duniya ka almiya hai..

right :slight_smile: .. but I think ke khushi se kuch bhi dene se behtar hai keh agar parents sahib-e-istetaat (wealthy) hon to apni beti ka share de dena chahiyey agar zarurat ho to… warna mard ko kam az kam itna to kerna chahiyey ke apni family ka boahj utha le…
