an atheist believes that this life is what it is, so wether i am a muslim and you are an athiest does not matter, but we muslims actually work on the famous poetic verse

So actually my fellow brother was trying every arow in his quiver to save you from punishment which will come on any person's way who does wrong things, they include what you have pointed out. Actually he was taking care of you, its like when someone who cares for you wants you to save from soemthing wrong you are doing and do not understand, he will use evrey thing possible, first explain you , try to persuade you and if you stay adamant will force you if he really takes care of you. This is the psyche behind the statement of my brother. do not mind, he actually overshot, if you are not interested to understand there is no reason why should he cross a certain line.
