Assalam Aleikum everone!
Em getting married on 1st march and on 28th feb ive ma mehndi function…
just wanted to know what items are necessary for a mehndi function like how many thaals,the leaf for keeping on bride’s hand for mehndi and all dat stuff etc. Also plz tell me abt Saeed Ghani’s packages for mehndi items and their costs…

^..you keep quiet......she has not that much time..all these kind of things takes loads of time to prepare......its the same as the Requirement gathering.....time is not enough for it...:D

I can try to help:These all deend on your choice
- invites
-leaf
-music
-thaalis with candles (the amount depends on how many girls you want carrying them)
-matches (it sux if you for get these)
-a dupatta (some people make their entrance under a dupatta)
-dandiya sticks
-dholi
-dholki
-mendhi (obviously)
-somtimes theres games or dance planned or skits
That's all i got now but when i think of more i'll let u know

Who is saeed ghani? Is he the guy with the famous ubtan?

Btw mahiya's list looks pretty complete to me. Some people even do the money circling thing so make sure your mom/sisters/aunts have change for that.

And mithai to feed the groom and bride.

And oil if they do the tail lagana.

And ubtan if they do ubtan ki rasam.

Also, the SILs hold the groom’s pinky finger and ask for money. So tell your fiance to carry lots of it

ohh, good music!!! make sure to tell your dj what songs you want, give him a list. if you're not having a dj, burn some good cds or upload songs on ipod.

Thaal to keep oil, uptun and mendhi - I saw really cute ones in pakistan that carry all three.
A leaf

For event:
Invites
Music
Decorations
Dupata
Dholki
Dufli
Flowers for gajras and haar

If you are making Thaals at home:

Thaals
Candles
Spray paint
glitter
beads
Mendhi (not to put but to cover the thaals)
Matches or lighter
glue gun

i dont knw if Flowers have been mentioned...but u need them at mehndi...for decorations of the hall n for the thaals and stuff.

and yes shay.. ive planned to give a long long list of songs to the dj bfore the mehndi function and those songs on which my frnds and cuzns will dance will be with me seperately in a cd in case if the dj doesnt have that song!

print out some books with songs u can sing while playing the dhol, they are extremely convenient and can be made cute if u r creative!

most imp is have napkins/tissue paper handy!!! u need it everywhere… in sweets/ rasams… so keep that handy… u can have yellow/orange/red and green colored one.

ubtan if people put that on the bride

afshan/glitter for people to put on the bride

my mother made baskets of churriyaan to give out at the mehndi

flower necklaces and bracelets. i've even seen flower teekas and earrings.
