Congratulations to all the Indian guppies. It’s a very well deserved victory! :k:
Also, don’t forget to thank some of the contributors such as Malik, Akmal and the Pakistan selection committee who did an excellent job showing the world that we do have a backup for Akmal, and that we will keep experimenting with our opening pair until God knows how long.

yaar...trying to enliven this place a little bit (it has fallen silent like an Indian stadium after an Indian defeat)....and also have barely got a wink of sleep (watched the match through the night and morning)....and working from home now....dimaag theek se kaam nahi kar raha hai...Lo...tum bhi daaru piiiioo

if Pakistan had not scored a little slowly and had added 30-40 more runs, and shoaib hadnt been injured, we might have seen a different result

^Well...24 years may seem like a long time...but I think there was probably not more than 4 ODI series played between the two teams in India during this period.
Remember that India-Pak played very little cricket between themselves during most of the 90s.
So let me see :
Series 1 => The one that featured Salim Malik's heroics in Calcutta
Series 2 => This one I vaguely remember Sadanand Vishwanath was our Wicket Keeper (we also lost the low-scoring Bangalore test narrowly despite Gavaskar's brilliant batting)
Series 3 => Akram I believe was Pak's captain....Shoaib Akhtar's debut series in India.
Series 4 => The last one with Afridi's heroics in Kanpur and Delhi. Pak won 4-2.
Can't seem to remember any more. Too lazy to check Cricinfo.
