Semi, that is the essence of the whole issue. The UN validated Israel in 1948. The Arab world rejected that mandate, and started three, now four wars. (Five or six or seven if you count the occupation of Lebanon, and a couple intifadas). Clearly Iran and Syria and Lebanon need to either accept the UN mandate, or withdraw from the UN.
