It’s about time that Pakistan recognized Israel. Pakistan has not gained anything by not having diplomatic relationship with Israel. Most Arab countries have dealings with Israel and even the Palestinians sit around the negations table with them. India recognized Israel in the early 90s and rather than losing the favor with the Arabs it actually won their admiration. It’s in Pakistan’s National interest to recognize Israel. When have the Arabs ever spoken up for Kashmir, they donated more money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina than for the earthquake victims in Kashmir. This in no way undermines the suffering of Palestinian people rather it will help them as Pakistan will be able to exert positive influence over Israel.

Yes, Israel is there. You cant walk into Jerusalem without a Visa from the Nation of Israel. There is no such thing as the Nation of Philistine. They have "Territories" like West bank and Gaza.
So once the impotents (Hamas and Fatah) are done killing each other, Israel will take over that too.

why not? many Arabs have good relations with them. why do we think we are the only ones who should be protecting islam. besides the matter between palestinians and israelis is not religious but geographical. after all there are palestinian christians being equally discriminated against

Totally agree, infect there over one million Arabs live in Israel and actually call themselves Arab Israelis rather than Palestinians; they even have Arab Israeli members of parliament. Hence Pakistanis shouldn’t try to be more Palestinians than the Palestinians. Israel is a reality, it is no use closing your eyes and pretending that it does not exist. When was the last time you heard someone criticize Egypt or Jordan for having full diplomatic relationship with Israel? Both of these countries have benefited hugely by recognizing Israel.

Mashallah. At least the state of Israel has given citizenship and equal rights to its Arab inhabitants. Unlike most of the Arab states who still treat them like unwanted refugees, and deprive them of their basic human rights.

I would like to ask the Pakistanis who say Pakistan should not recognise Israel. If the Palistinian Authority recognises Israel, then why can't Pakistan? Is it not a case of trying to be more Muslim than anyone else, just like they say, being more Catholic than the Pope.?

whoever mentioned that arabs have equal rights in israel doesnt know what he is talking about! the reality is far from equal rights.
the pal authority doesnt have the authority or power to decide its own policies!! perhaps similar to the pressure pakistan is under to recognise israel. a sign of a strong nation is that it is able to represent its views on the diplomatic table without fear of attack. our military might is useless if we cannot even do this
remember we on the net may have become accustomed to hearing the name 'israel' but it still remains one of the most dirtiest words on the ground!

Israel is a name given to Prophet Jacob and is mentioned in the Holy Quran many times. Arabs in Israel have more rights than most Pakistanis do in Arab countries. How come the Arab countries are not speaking up against the genocide in Darfur?

For instance General Zia Ul-Haq ordered the kiling of thousands of Palistinians in Jordan in 1970, more than Israel has ever done against the Palistinians in 60 years. Yet the PLO and Yassar Arafat never broke off relations with Pakistan, infact they were the first to mourn the death of President Zia -Ul-Haq.
