Re: Israeli President congratulates Musharraf on Presidential election win.
fraudia and aalsi you guys seem more naive then the saudis on this. are you drinking some hippy-cola? peace, love, harmony hasnt been shown by the nation hell bent upon a zealot religious extremist campaign. a nation that feels it has the god given right to ethnically clean its chosen land.
theres many facets of this conflict that cannot be ignored including israels blatant refusal for a fair and just settlement.
the fact is, even if you dont like, pakistanis feel repulsed by the way israel has muscled in on palestine. pakistanis feel repulsed by the way israel has beaten up poor ol' arabs, who we all know cant fight. 60 years the've had to make peace and yet they refuse. i'll repeat what spock mentioned before, i expect everyone not just muslims to condemn the israellis for their actions. its case for the whole of humanity to take up against the evil policies of the zionists.
certainly pakistan can not afford to take an offensive position on this (for free of getting ko'd) but it can refuse to recognise until a settlement has been reached. dont be scared and if your scared, pakistan should build up its defences until such a point that its views can be respected. or else it should join back up with india, bladdy waste of a flag space amongst all the independent nations. however, pakistan at the moment does represent its people on this issue. mizz aslam herself has commented on iran's right to nuclear weapons saying she believes only a nuclear free ME can prevent poliferation
it 'may' be that you are sick of belonging to a muslim nation(minus aalsi :)), but a muslim nation is what you belong to. get over it and represent the good, portray your dismay at israelli action and request a forthwith settlement. besides no matter what country you belong to, it'll always take some amount of carelessness(polite word for it) to recognise israel at this stage.
as a rule of thumb, if you call for the establishment of palestinian state then your political position is to withhold your recognition of israel. if you dont place settlement of unresolved issues as a clause then yes you can recognise israel. i mention this because many pakistanis who arnt naturally into politics think they can pretend to hold political views that they dont actually subscribe to when looked at in-depth.
i also know that many people subscribe to a media portrayed image of israel that is far from reality, because they are sick of fighting against the status quo. namely the notion that israel wants peace, palestinians dont

SIZE=3][FONT=Times New Roman]You seem to be suffering from a virulent form of Anti-Semitic fever. Islam denounces Anti-Semitism in all its forms and manifestations. Israel is a name given to Prophet Jacob and is mentioned in the Holy Quran many times. Arabs in Israel have more rights than most Pakistanis do in Arab countries. How come the Arab countries are not speaking up against the genocide in Darfur?

im not an anti semite and i dont give discounts to semites either:)
arabs or even pakistan dont generally speak up about anything unless it concerns them or they are asked for their views. pakistan has tried to organise a peaceforce along with arab and muslim partners.
are you pro semite because they became muslim? i trust you do know that the current lineage of israellis extends back to eastern europe?
are you anti arab because they dont send out forces to trouble spots?
answers to these questions will stick even on teflon!
