Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

My facebook is acting really goofy so Ive not been able to access mine for a bit. I checked my sister’s though and noticed something.

A lot of our fellow facebookers are donating their statuses to create awareness in the community. I dont think there is anything wrong with that. There was a HUGE rally today in downtown Chicago…over 10,000 people showed up from what Im told. I dont think there is anything wrong with that. I think there needs to be more concern for what is going on with our fellow Muslims all over the world and Palestine is absolutely no exception. Plus, we need to show them we care.

What bothered me was a note someone posted (there is a reason I have this person blocked on my facebook and the rest of their idiotic, brainless clan). It was about how donating statuses, going to rallies, talking to people, etc. is useless and people should stop pretending they care when they actually dont. There is nothing we can do sitting here in US and Palestine deserves exactly what they’re getting because they chose to mess with an enemy bigger than them…Israel. That unless we can get on a plane and physically go there, all these protests and rallies are a waste of time and effort. WHAT!!!

Do any of you believe that a prayer, an action no matter how small is useless because we’re sitting so far away from them? Because if thats the case, then Im so ashamed right now…

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

harkat mein barkat hai. enough said.

you think had Quaid-e-azam not come to india...pak could have been created?
look at sikhs. sitting in foreign countries they dream and pray for a homeland..khalistan...but its not going to happen unless they go and unite as a force to be reckon with. palestinian's case is no different.

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

Im sorry Saieen Sahab, but every little bit counts and no effort is too small in my eyes. There are people who want to help but dont have the ability to drop what they're doing and leave. They've got families, money problems, etc.

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

Okay so my sister and I had a very similar discussion today. She asked me if I wanted to go to the protest being held in downtown tomorrow for Gaza.

This is what I said to her and this is what I'm saying to you guys - hopefully someone can give me a powerful enough answer: What will us standing in the freezing cold and screaming do for Palestinians? What is the purpose of this protest - what will we get out of it except media coverage?

All of us very very well know Israeli officials couldn't care less about this protest. Nor does it ever matter. No protest has ever changed anything, ever.

I told my sister, if she really wants to help - aside from making dua, she should donate money for the cause. That will help more than standing on the street tomorrow with a sign no one is looking at. She claims the money won't reach the needy.

So people, I am hoping you guys can shed more light on this issue for me, thanks. :)

to yeh kaho ke apni life enjoy kerni hai inhon se...aur dosron ke liey khali-kholi dua'in hein. yeh bahana har muslim ka hai.

rightly said.USA is the only country not to ask/push israel for ceasefire. and these smart and intelligent muslims think that they'll make some kind of difference by freezing their butts in cold and shouting at the top of their lungs, as if any one really gives a damn about what they think / say. the best they will get out of such protests is to have their names keep by FBI/CIA as people of interest.

I think its better to go to protest rather than sitting home and saying what ever Israel is doing is wrong !!!

It might not change anything, but ALLAH will ask us what we did abt the issue !!!

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

:hmmm: Protesting = media coverage = more awareness/sending out the message to other’s, right? so thats a good thing isn’t it?

Every little helps, Dua’s Donations or taking part in a Protest.

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

All this status and rally stuff might not help...

but at least whoever concerned knows that we feel for them and our hearts reach out for them, we might not be able to help them in actual sense but that doesn't mean we don't care!!

SU, us screaming and protesting in the cold might not stop the blood shed right away but it makes a powerful statement. If Im the only standing outside the Mayor of Chicago's office protesting a bill or an act, I wont get noticed but if Ive thousands of people right along with me, it makes a difference! We think we're only one person and how on earth can my single body make a difference in the bigger picture. The thing is, a crowd is made up of people like you and I. Forget the crowd, Im talking about worldwide efforts here. Its not just their problem. Its ours too and just because we're sitting far away from them doesnt absolve us of all responsibilities towards them. Its starts with people like you and I and thats when others start to notice.

Media coverage is exactly what we want...how else do we reach across these waters and get to them?

YOu know what the worst part of my conversation with this person was? They felt Palestinians deserved all this. And they are Muslim themselves. It was so sad to hear this, I almost felt my heart break. How can killing elderly, men, women, babies, children, whole families be okay???

Apni life enjoy karne ki baat nahin horahi hai. Jo apke bas mein hai, vo karne ki baat horahi hai.

Agar koi banda apni bivi aur bachon ko chordke ye jang larne chala jaye, to ye bevaqoofi hai. Khud bhi mara jayega aur bivi bachon ko bhi pareshan karega. Lekin agar aap koi aisa kaam karein jo apke bas mein ho aur aap apni zimmidariyon ko bhi pura karsakte hein, to please karein!!!!

Ye sirf dosre logon ko masla nahin hai Saieen Sahab, apka masla hai aur mera masla hai.

Every single effort counts.....and that really means any effort. A donation, raising your voice , sending emails/statements to different blogs or media machinery, making a dua from your heart ... anything.

And those who think that we should not make any effort cuz its not our problem or the efforts may not do anything blabla.. I would say the samething which I posted on one other thread:

Imagine for one complete minute, you or your family or your most loved one, living in Gaza right now.. facing the same agony and pain as those people are.... you cannot go anywhere cuz even UN schools are not safe, you dont have access to any aid, no food, no electricity, nothing. In other words life has become nothing but hell for you. What will you ask or expect someone of your fellows living in west to do to help you out???

"You" have to do the same!!

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

revolution doesn't come over night. every bit helps like a poster above said. yesterday the world was never aware of what israel has been doing for the past 60 years and TODAY people starting to wake up to the facts. the more you protest, the more you create awareness. every bit counts, be it writing articles, emails, phone calls, protests, letters.. at least people will be aware rather than sitting inside doing nothing going on with our pathetic little lives like zombies. remember the obama hype, where is it now? obama hasn't said ONE damn thing about Gaza massacre, his excuse is he's not president yet..and when Mumbai attacks happened, he was at the front on top of his lungs! americans you guys have been fooled far too long, poor youth have been duped into beliving this nazi obama. wake up now.

oh u will find these isreali sympathizers amongst GS members,, take a walk to world affairs....

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

Israeli sympathizers? Wow, among our own hunh?

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

shooting rockets on innocent civilians is very right ..they should live in constant fear..very good !!!Keep it up!!

PS squared jo log jihaad kertey hain zulm ke khilaaf jo aajkal Gaza mein ho raha hai and jo log madad ke liye jaa saktey hain woh bewaqoof aap ki nazar mein ho saktay hain magar ALLAH ke nazar mein nahi

I think going to a rally shows our support for our brother and sisters.

Whatever is happening is outrageously wrong. We cannot do anything, YET do not underestimate the power of unity. TOGETHER we will overcome the most horrendous situation.

Bombs, chemicals, high end technology devices - all in favor of Israel. Yet, it will lose this war.

With such highly disturbed situation in Gaza, the future for the Palestinian's is grim. Palestinian's have lost EVERYTHING. They are not going to be afraid anymore. The Israeli's better be afraid - cause they have everything, and they might not be able to hold on to it forever.

How can the Israeli's believe this war can come to an end? How long can the Israeli's live up with their atrocities? They will never be able to live in peace.

Today we feel that there is no such thing as Palestine Muslims, no individual Muslim. Today we have united. We all feel the same pain.

Love brings peace. Not war. The Israeli's will learn that soon.

Also, beware Israel wants to create worldwide tension - not just Palestinian. They are very much testing the possibility of a WWIII. How pathetic. How shameful. How lowly and cowards the Israeli's are.

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

This war is not end until US is backing Isreal

Isreal started and would stop when her daddy US will call it.

Israel was saying attack on Iran nuclear sites in 2008 January but US rejected due to tense situation in Iraq/Afghanistan

US used again VETO in SC to save her illegal Israel recently

Isreal is nothing but due to Zionists which are ruling US for 200 years

Recently Isreal was sent with tons of ammunition and German ship was hired for it .

Us is controlled by Zionist Lobby ,Conggressmen Senators, Bush admin. all are controlled by thesee people.

So protesting/writting letters would do very little or i fear even nothing because senators/admin of US is not controlled by Americans

Ume, Im not trying to be rude here but I dont see the logic in getting yourself killed when you have small children depending on you. Thats not jihad, thats creating even more problems where there werent any to start with. Thats leaving a widow and orphaned children behind with no father or support. Regardless, the point is simply to do what you can and nothing is too small or insignificant.
