Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

We have quite a few of such people on GS too, check out WA. One of them posts the most ridiculous stuff ever. Everything in his opinion happens to be the fault of 'pan' Islamists.

true even lil participation makes a difference

PS Think if your country is attacked who will go in a war to free the country if everyone starts thinking I have small children.I am not saying you go and fight for Palestine right now but if we lived in there then our husbands, fathers or sons need to go to fight for the freedom of their country.

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

virtual protests dont stop the bombs from falling

israel attacks in retaliation. when u fire rockets at them ur giving them an excuse to carpet bomb u. one israeli killed by hamas leads to 30 palestinian women and children deaths. is it really worth picking a fight like this? stupid muslims never learn

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

^ Im not going to get into the debate of who started this war because that will lead to a whole different argument. Suffice to say I dont agree with you.

My point is that everyone can make an effort and no effort is too small. If you disagree with protesting, its fine. However, openly putting down those who are out there isnt fair. No, you dont need to picket with me but you cant put down those who do.

Re: Israel/Palestine/Facebook Statuses

^ Okay, I'd say that's fair enough.

think the most important that we can do is make Dua for our brothers and sisters in Gaza.

I don't think that protesting is completely useless- but it has proved to raise limited awareness- as much as we'd like to think it is effective. It is because even when we get media coverage it HIGHLY Pro- Israel. So it's really hard.

However going out in Protests is not entirely useless. I found comfort in the fact that there were so many Muslim Brothers and Sisters that came united whether they were Pakistani, or Arab or whatever and shared a love for the innocents who have passed away in Gaza.

However, I do believe whole heartedly that even more then protesting, we should make dua sincerely for them - it is the only thing we can do, besides protesting. When I say make dua, I mean pray five times a day and after you pray make a dua.

This is off topic but I would also like to add it is important to note that how small number of people are that pray five times a day these days. Out of my three Muslim (desi) roommates only I pray five times a day. When we don't pray-- our duas are not as powerful because why would you expect Allah (swt) to answer your duas, when you can't even spend five minute five times a day for him.

These are times when little can be done for our Muslims in Gaza, and out of them dua is the most powerful.

Also, when protesting remember to keep protesting PEACEFUL! Nothing embarrases me more then some idiot making violent statements. It does absolutely NO GOOD, and DOES MORE HARM TO THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY AT LARGE!!!!!!!!! It will give people more reason to hate our innocent brothers and sisters in Gaza and the world at large! We sadly already have a reputation of being violent. If you are so angry, then please just stay home and make dua!!
