Why don't they live in build up Urban areas like the Iraqi Insurgents?

I mean Iraqi Insurgents enjoy local support thats why they can easily live in Urban areas of Iraq and fight the Americans but why can't the Taliban do the same?

Or maybe they don't enjoy support and are not seen as freedom fighters

I mean what new freedoms will the Taliban bring to Afghanistan?

If this is your premise (the bolded part), then I assure you you’ve got the whole picture wrong.

They do reside in Urban areas, they ruled the area for gods sake. They owned the land, urban areas in Afghanistan are made around mountainous terrain.

They know it better than the invading forces.

Have you ever been to Afghanistan ever?
Perhaps even seen pictures, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

If they live in urban areas, they'll call 'em cowards who hide among innocent people. (i.e Lebanon) And if they live in mountains, they have no support. (i.e Afghanistan)
