^ I am disgusted at the silence of the Arab countries in particular. These people on board of these aid ships may not be Muslim but to me they are 1000 times better than those so called Muslim kings ruling their countries and watching the suffering of the Palestinians- infact fully assisting Israel!

So true.. these are real decent people.. reminds me a bit of the anti-war marches we had back in London in 2003, all those non-Muslims came out to demonstrate whilst most of the Muslims I know were sat at home watching tv..
I read somewhere that there were some European MEPs onboard the ship, I'm not sure of it's true but if it was perhaps they might finally be able to effectively highlight how badly the Israeli Gov behaves. Most of us Muslims just seem to spend our time attacking each other and acting like children. I don't have any problem with Israelis or Jews themselves (I actually think there's a lot we could learn from them in terms of community and how ambitious, educated and hard-working they are) but the way their gov treats the Palestinians is sick and ruthless.

Turkey has been Israel’s best partner in the Islamic world. But this relationship is now coming to an end. This was a Turkish flotilla, and most people killed were Turks.

ANKARA (Turkey) - TURKEY on Monday warned Israel of ‘irreparable consequences’ to bilateral ties after more than 10 people died in an Israeli operation on aid-carrying ships bound for Gaza, among them Turkish vessels.
The Israeli envoy was summoned to the foreign mininstry as hundreds gathered outside Israeli missions to protest the assault that came atop already badly worsened ties between the two former allies.
‘By targeting civilians, Israel has once again shown its disregard for human life and peaceful initiatives. We strongly condemn these inhumane practices of Israel,’ the Turkish foreign mininstry said in a statement. ‘This deplorable incident, which took place in open seas and constitutes a fragrant breach of international law, may lead to irreparable consequences in our bilateral relations,’ it said. ‘Israel will have to bear the consequences of this behaviour, which constitutes a violation of international law.’
Israeli ambasssador Gabby Levy held a 20-minute meeting with a senior foreign ministry official and left the ministry without making a statement. He was told that 'Turkey retains all its rights under international law concerning this assault,’ a Turkish diplomat, who asked not to be named, told AFP. **‘We are considering the actions that we may take under international law,’ **he said.
Turkey also asked for a detailed report on the fate of all people who were aboard the vessels, he said, adding that they included nationals from a total of 33 countries. Mr Levy was also told that the Turkish passengers and the wounded should be repatriated to Turkey in the shortest possible time and the vessels released, he said.
Turkish police were put on alert as hundreds of demonstrators protested outside Israeli missions. Carrying Palestinian flags, some 400 people gathered outside the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, as dozens of police stopped them from approaching the building, an AFP photographer said. A crowd of some 200 people gathered outside Mr Levy’s residence in Ankara, shouting ‘Damn Israel’ and reciting prayers, an AFP photographer said. – AFP

Arab League chief Amr Moussa called on Monday for an emergency meeting to discuss what the body that groups 22 Arab states described as Israel’s “terrorist act” against a Gaza-bound international aid ships.
"The Arab League’s Secretary General has called for an urgent meeting at the level of representatives to look into this** henious crime committed by Israeli forces against unarmed civilians** that left scores of dead and wounded.
“The Arab League strongly condemns this terrorist act.”

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said, “The inhumane act by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people and the prevention of the humanitarian aid from entering Gaza** does not illustrate its strength, but its weakness.**”

New Delhi: Turkey has threatened Israel with unprecedented action after Israeli forces attacked an aid vessel, killing 10 peace activists headed to Gaza.
Israel said 10 people died while those on the ship said at least 15 were killed.
A shocked world has responded with outrage. Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel and warned of unprecedented and incalculable reprisals.
Two Turkish activists were reported to be among those killed in the flotilla. Ankara warned that further supply vessels will be sent to Gaza, escorted by the Turkish Navy, a development with unpredictable consequences.
Israel has sounded an alert throughout the country fearing rocket attacks by Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The Arab League has called an urgent meeting on Tuesday to decide on a common response. Egypt is under pressure to end the blockade of Gaza while Greece has cancelled a military exercise with Isreal.
The world is waiting for the response from Washington, how will President Obama react to the provocation from America’s closest ally.

The Israelis have blocked any reporting on the number of dead/injured, however it appears that the death toll is now at least 19, with over 60 people injured. This was a massacre, plain and simple.

From what I remember, Amr Moussa is an Egyptian and his country is actively helping Israel in its blockade of Gaza. As for rest of the Arab countries, less said the better, but kudos to Turkey for standing up. 
I'm so upset after reading this news and further on the quiteness/lack of actions from the Arab world especially big king pins like Saudi Arabia.
Shame on Israel to attack on a aid ship in "open water", not even in their own territory..
Further shame on our big Islamic and especially Arab giants who every now and then give huge aid to western nations to coup up with economic hardship but become silent when any such thing happen. May be few words of condolence or any act to make people excited but then what... its all quiteness in the end..
The way it is going, its gonna happen every now and then...this terrorrism is not going to end by Israel unless there is a huge strong coalition of countries which have a real influence..
