Israel and Pakistan are the only 2 nations created on the basis of religion. As soon as they were created, both were attacked by foreign aggression in order to destroy it. India attacked Pakistan to take Kashmir and other vital areas and Arabs attacked Israel in order to destroy it.

Pakistan today has not officially acknowledged Israel. This is due to the fact of extreme pressure by Islamic Fundamentalist in my country who are against the recognition of the Jewish State. Educated Pakistanis who are not blinded by Arab propogranda protraying Israel has a evil country bent on destroying muslims and arabs are held hostage by the country’s economic conditions.

Millions of Pakistanis work in some of the most anti-semetic countries in the Middle East like Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The money they sent back home supports the Pakistani economy. If Pakistan were to recognize Israel, the Arabs could hit back by expelling Pakistani expatriate workers in their countries and accept Indian workers. Arabs only care about arab causes. They sympathise with India in Kashmir, are closer to India than to Pakistan simply because India is a larger, economically stronger, military, financially, and has more natural resources than Pakistan. Arab interests lies in a stronger alliance with India than with Pakistan.

Then Why should Pakistan care about Arab causes which when we support make us more enemies than friends.

Pakistanis cannot be more Palestinian than the Palestininas.

The Elite in my country realise this and are willing to establish diplomatic relations with Israel.

I understand Israel’s problems. Israel is in a demographic time bomb. Arabs already make 20% of Israel’s population, not counting the Arabs who live in Gaza or West Bank. The Arabs also demand a right of return which is supported by all muslim countries. This will destroy Israel as a Jewish country. That would be like Pakistan admitting 200,000,000 Hindus into Pakistan who fled after the partition of 1947.

The Arab countries have never supproted Pakistan but used it as tool to build up its countries. They pretend to be our friends and yet support our enemies. I lived in Saudi Arabia for 12 years, and they treat us like dirt.

Both the Pakistani and Israeli Armies are defensive Armies caught in a sturggle of self preservation against much more numerically superior enemies. India has the atomic bomb and Iran is also developing one.

Both Pakistan and Israel have limited natural resource options and have to rely on foreign sources in military goods, finaicial aid and economic support. USA supports Israel and China supports us.

It is time for Pakistans to look beyond the Arab propoganda about Palestine. 60,000 muslims have been killed in Kashmir by the Indian Army and yet not a peep is heard in the Arab world. And in the past 4 years, 3,000 Palestinians and 1,000 Israelis have been killed and yet the Arabs potray it as a massacare on equal with the holocaust. If 1,000 Pakistanis were killed by Afghanis for example in suicide bombings or other things. The Pakistani Army would have annhiliated them. This is a level of restrain that the Israeli Army shows towards the Palestinian people.

Israeli Generals and Politicians have said that a recognition with Pakistan and an alliance with Pakistan will serve both nations interest. Pakistan is strongest muslim military power in the world. It is the most important non-arab muslim country and a recognition by Pakistan of Israel will show other non-arab muslims that the struggle between Israel and Palestine is not a Muslim and Jewish struggle over religion but a struggle over land between Israel and Palestine.

However, this will take a long time to happen. Pakistani illetracy rate is around 60%. Most people have just sterotypical knowledge about Jewish people and take things out of context from the Quran to potray venom towards the Jewish People.

President Musharraf of Pakistan has held secret talks with the left wing leaders of the Israeli Government in particualar with Shimon Peres. In the Pakistani Intelligence Circles there is talk of an Israeli Trade mission and diplomatic exchange in 6 months to 1 year.

Let us hope, that this brings a lasting and strong friendship two nations who share more things in common than its differences.

I am a pro-Israeli Pakistani.

I dont beleive in some Jewish conspiracy against Muslims or to take over the world.

I dont beleive in the arab propoganda that Jews are more evil than the Nazis and that Israel is more evil than Nazi Germany.

I am a Proud Pakistani and a proud Muslim.

But I am not uneducated, that I become a zombie and blindly follow other muslims in their hatred for the jewish people and Israel.

-->Sorry Kiddo. You are wrong again. The population of Arabs living in Palestine was 600,000. Infact, England was so pro-Zionist, that it stopped Jewish immigration to Israel even after seeing the Holocaust in which 6 Million Jews were brutally murdered by the Nazis.

I am sure, if 6 Million muslims had been murdered by the Nazis you will be singing a different tune.

But in any case, UN mandate divided Palestine between Arabs and Jews much in the same way India was divided between Muslims and Hindus. The Areas which had a jewish majority became Israel and the rest was Palestine.

But 5 Arab countries (Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestinians) themselves launched an attack to destroy Israel.

And contrary to popular belief, USA did not help Israel. US Secretary of State, Marsall was agaisnt the nation of Israel being formed in the first place because he didn't want to anger the Arabs since they could go towards the Soviet Camp in the Cold War.

The Israels which mustered an Army of 30,000 men fought against the 100,000-150,000 Arab forces.

The Arabs were never interested in defeating Israel but rather showing off their prestige as who was the person which drove the Jews to the sea and as a result, the Arab forces never came into cohesion, never supported each other. But the Israels who were fighting for their lives and their homeland, fought bravely and stalled the Arabs, especially the powerful Egyptian Army around 20 km from Tel Aviv.

The Israelis got a weapons shipment from the USSR not the USA, but the USSR which included a couple of air-craft, machine guns, assault rifles, etc...

This turned the balance of the war.

And how did 30,000 Israeli soldiers who were fighting 150,000 Arabs managed to expel 500,000 Palestinians from Palestine???

Well the answer to that is they didn't.

The Arabs did it themselves. The Arabs in order to inspire their men and the Palestinian population claimed that Israeli forces were massacaring Palestinian people, raping women, killing old men and children. All of which was complete CRAP. But this had an adverse reaction on the Palestinian population. Instead of fighting, they retreated along with the Arab forces hoping to come back one day.

100,000 Stayed behind, and now are called the Israeli-Arabs.

That radio broadcast from Jerusalem, that told lies about Israeli treatment of Palestinians has been regarded by every Arab academic as their single greatest mistake during the 1948 War.

So the Palestinian refugees flee to Gaza Strip and the West Bank, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon. Egpyt occupies Gaza while Jordan occupies the West Bank. They exploit the suffering of the Palestinian refugees to paint Israel in a negative light which had a lot of sympathy after the Holocaust.

Arabs expel their Jewish populations in 1949. And in 1 year, the population of Israel goes from 100,000 to 1,000,000.

Arabs expelled a larger Jewish population, than the Palestinians who fled due to that radio broadcast.

Palestinians are not given their state on West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Palestinians living in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan are not given nationality, stripped of all rights, cannot own land, cannot work in government jobs and are confined to their camps.

1... Not true. Israel may have had religious basis. Pakistan didn't. Pakistan was just a collection of border states of South Asia that didn't share the Leftie-Commie vision of Congress. Supporters of Pakistan stood for free-market, rags to riches approach. While Bharatis wanted a Commie Leftie heaven. Thus the basis of Pakistan were economic and not religious.

Palestinians are more friendly with Bharat even when Bharat sits in Israeli lap. So negative Arab reaction to Israeli recognition are unfounded.

Pakistan should go ahead and set up consulate in Israel. We may have few riots. Ultimately Mullahs can be bribed to shut them up.

Strong Friendship may be a something in the distant future (or may be utopia).

However the two countries should accept each other and establish diplomatic relationship.

Israel has always wanted to move forward. Only Pakistan has avoided the hand shake based on utter misperceptions (some of it thanks to liberal Pakistanis read my response to 4 points above).
