This smells like an Israeli publicity stunt. Offer an unacceptable peace and then blame the other side for not accepting it. They did it with the Palestinians, offering a rump, fragmented state that Israel would completely dominate, and then blame the Palestinians for not accepting it.

Well, what i just heard on news, according to this resolution Israel is not obliged to withdraw its troops from southern Lebanon untill 15,000 UN troops are placed in Lebanon and this may take weeks to occur.
The cost of this defeat is too less, only hundreds of innocent lives of Lebanese, and only the destruction of infrastructure which would take years to get restored.
