:k:
I know people who objected to hijabis dancing even when it was all girls. They complained why the gathering had been made all girls just so these hijabis can dance? But why not? They want to have fun and celebrate, just like everyone else.
Yeah but then were there still video/dj guy present? waiters going in and out the rooms, constnatly opening the door so guys could stand and watch? Then i can c why they would complain....

I agree, in a lot of cases I know, people fail to consider waiters, drivers, sweepers, batman and cameraman human enough to be ashamed / shy of.
Re: isnt it weird when.....?

Re: isnt it weird when.....?
In Pakistan forces they use the word batman for the servants

Nope. No video was allowed, even by us. No adult males were in the room.
Re: isnt it weird when.....?
Was that to me? Yes, for real.

Oh okay then they shouldn't've complained....
Re: isnt it weird when.....?
i guess
well i used to be a hijabi and i did not ever wear makeup or participate in such dances because they are contradictory to the spirit of hijab. also i think that hijab is a public symbol of islam, and so i felt as if i should make a little extra effort to live islam correctly. later on my dad made me take off the hijab and i was really upset but now i'm glad i did it...it seems sad...but my views have changed a lot. for example, i do wear makeup now (not everyday but at parties) and i do wear short sleeves....it would be incongruent for me to be advertising a symbol of modesty with that. so i no longer wear hijab although i dress conservatively.

i also feel hijab is a public symbol of islam and modesty..more care should be taken as 2 what actions hijabans show in the public..whether in front of men or not...thats y it seemed weird 2 me..bcs i feel the same way bout the hijab which u have described..
