I asked my friend's parents that once -- the husband quipped "I picked her up at a bus stop".
hehe, sorry, i had to add the humour.
Actually, my father told me of this one incident where the family actually did place the girl at a street curb in Pakistan, so that the guy could drive by and take a look at her. But, I dont know if that was a rumour or if he was a prime witness.

isna is like the most islamic environment that u can find in the us for peole to meet up in a crowd....but it's such a crowd.
i heard a few people did hook up tho from this year's events. more power to them.
i just hate it how more times than not the girls or their moms talk to the guy's side first. i just don't get that. that's like way too pushy and awkward for me, and it just seems to happen at all these such events.
take the mother out of the eqaution and perhaps it will be easier. And why is it any more difficult for girls to talk to guys? Dont you do it in school, at work etc? So why not here. Its not like there is a "you talk to a guy and you have to marry him" rule.
Arabs accusing Pakistani's of racism??! ... what chutzpah!! Muslim race relations would be a lot better if the Arabs can snap out of that superiority complex of theirs.

Arabs in Egypt are not racist in the slightest, I suppose that derives from the fact they rely on 'foreigners' for a large proportion of their GDP. However, places like SA, UAE have a different view of Pakistani's here they dwell in large numbers the Arab populace gets to know a lot more about them.
Spices are the key, South Asians eat them and as a result are spicier than the generally bland salty Arabs. But this is no reason for discord, can’t we all just get along?
