1.Mostly Makki sorah starts with Ya Ayi'yo Han Naas'o
Madni starts with Ya Ayi'yi haal Mou'mi noon
2.Makki sorahs contain Dawah to Islam.
Madni Sorahs contain socail laws such as Tarka, Huqooq-ul ibaad etc.
- Makki sorahs were revealed in Makkah.
Madni sorahs were revealed in Madina Munawara.

omg > nops ur answer is wrong .. many sorahs which called madni but they revealed in makkah and also some surahs called makkii but they revealed in madinah

- Makki sorahs were revealed in Makkah.
Madni sorahs were revealed in Madina Munawara.
Any surah that was revealed before the Hijrah is Makki and after Hijrah is Madani.

2nd place: Masjid-e Nabwi. (the whole old Madina)
3rd place: Masjid-e Aqsa.

I am not sure but I think so there are some surahs which were revealed in both Makka and Medina
In the commentary of Abu Ala Maududi, I have read this.
For eg turning towards Kaaba is was revealed in Medina thats after 16 months of Hijrah this verse is in surah Al baqara.
