Islamic fun.

Peace Faisal

As you can see by the response given by Hareem01 the post you sent to Mirch has been very confusing. She should not be blamed for the confusion.

You were of course being sarcastic. However, with sarcasm it is difficult to detect where you are being sarcastic and where you are not. Hareem01 has obviously assumed all of your post to be sarcastic and hence concluded that you find namaaz boring because to all fun activities you have sarcastically said to "no" then to salaat you have said "yes", then she assumed you meant the opposite.

Sarcasm for this reason should not be used, because it is a type of deception, and it is not upright in terms of good straight talking. Mirch bhai had asked a very good question and even though for you the answer is obvious for others it may not be.

Re: Islamic fun.

^ What is this, a husband-wife tag-team?? :hoonh: Scroll up and read my post again. It has an important message for those who understand. If you don’t care about your deen, then anything goes. If you do care, then its a whole different story. If you are a so-called mod-muslim then all kinds of fun activities are fine for you. Hareem lacked comprehension and came in with the very arrogant “i feel sorry for you” comment. And now you jump in and say “oh don’t blame her for not understanding”. If you don’t understand something, you ask, you don’t start making silly presumptuous statements.

Ok I will pack my bags and move to somewhere deep in the Amazon.
Thanks for keeping me on the straight path.
Jazzak Allah.

They tell me that I cannot understand Quran and Ahadees untill I spend 14 to 18 years in madarsa where does that leave me ?

You are not much of help. Ijtehad is what we are doing in this thread , but I do not see your ijtehad other than scraping hadees out of the picture.

I respect your POV , whenever I disagree with you I tell you then and there. I assure you this thread is not in response to any of your threads. It is result of a lecture I heard by a scholar listening to which made me think that the only real Islamic life I can lead is jut by living in a grave yard and by remembering my death all the time.

So it all boils down to your frame of mind , niyat and irada . If I watch a movie with the frame of mind that I am learning a valuable lesson about how to live and survive in this world, it is fine. Or I watch a comedy with the frame of mind that I am stress and relieving that stress by watching this movie is good for my health and it will save me from having a heart attach or ulcer , I guess that will be fine. Trust me my intention to watch that movie is not to enjoy the half naked bodies of women in that movie.

Again you are being judgmental , how do you know I am getting old ? Having teenager sons does not qualify me to be getting old. If I cannot walk or talk or think straight due to my age then it will be called getting old. what getting old has to do with this discussion ? I am asking all this because I have those teenagers they listened to that lecture with me while driving down somewhere and they started asking questions.

LOL:omg:

Actually, I read every single bit of it so, it is at least not wasted.

Itna hard work karnay per app key tankha double. Jain aish karain ab.:D

Re: Islamic fun.

n i think u can understand roman urdu ..i saw urz many LOoong posts in roman urdu ..hayrat hay ...

thanx for ur very kind n polite words about my post
u r such a great MOd who encourage thier members to stop thier posts : )

jazakum Allah o khaira wa ahsan al jaza : )

4 wives, what else do ya want (j/k)

I can, but as Faisal said too long posts in Roman Urdu become tedious to read. I gave you my honest opinion , if you wish to follow through it is fine if not it is fine too.
I did not ask you to stop posting. If you want you can open a thread and ask the citizens of gupland , if they read long post in roman Urdu , and you can base your decision to shorten your posts , I might be wrong in my assumption but to be honest I do not read long posts in Roman Urdu , no matter how interesting they are.

Re: Islamic fun.

I skip long posts in english, religiously as well...

People often end up asking for summary. Urdu or non-urdu is a moot point. If we want to learn something, we might pull ourself to read.

To be honest if English post is long but interesting for me I will read it , but Roman Urdu I cannot. I recently started to communicate in Roman Urdu , I had a mental block against it for long time.

:khumar:

You don’t get to see all this mods kee piyar muhabat in one thread everyday. MashAllah, Allah buri nazar say bachaee. :cheegum:

It’s called difference of opinion and it’s healthy and creative for fruitful discussions because as members, we speak our minds and not our whims

Re: Islamic fun.

Yup, and that is what I am doing, appreciating it :p

In 2005 I took the PMP exam. It was four hours long. I was really worried about the length of it and was afraid to get tired and loose focus. My experienced friends told me that I was allowed to take breaks. So, I carefully planned them: when would I take them, what would I do in them. I took large coffee to exam room, in break I went to wash room relieve myself (even though I don't need it) washed my face, ate some snacks (I even put some thinking in choosing snacks, so that I would get the maximum energy for my exam and don't bother my digestive and other systems too much).

I didn't think too much about the exam during the break but everything I was doing in the break was to rejuvenate myself for rest of the exam.

Indeed it worked and I was fully focused till the last minute. I passed the exam.

Moral of the story: if you haven't got it by now this post is not for you, sorry to take your time.

Re: Islamic fun.

Mirch, atleast we agree on a need of ijtehad albeit none of sahi bukhari and other stuff. Thanks and take care.

And how you became a mod? I hate to be ever a mod, I like free thinking in this world. :halo:

Re: Islamic fun.

nice, four diff topics going on in here… :khumar:

A clear live example of Islamic Fun.

Good topic. My understanding is there is no such thing as Islamic fun.(Fun in the sense of actual fun). Reason is Islam forbids to waste time in Idel activites which make you forget you duty towards allah. Muslims should spend any spare time in ibbadat because you never know which moment is your last.
Israff is forbidden and extra amount of money should go to charity.
For women it is even thougher because she is not suppose to leave the home with out any real purpose and the parda issue also makes it difficult.
One cannot even watch tv because one sould not see na mahram ppl,
Cannot throw lavish parties because Islam encourages simlicitiy and forbid Israf.
Having said that I dont think it is practical and one would go nuts living in such confinement.
