And the Arabs resented the Usmani caliphs for it and worked with the British to overthrow it. Muslims hate each other, so how can you expect them to unite and make a caliphate?

Everytime the west have a good idea which works for them, they try to shove it down other’s people’s throats…
The Communists came, communism worked for them, they exported it to other nations and millions died…Nazism came, it worked for the Germans, then they tried to export it and millions died…
Now it’s America’s turn to export their version of what works, and that being democracy and millions have died already in its name…
And as usual, stoats come running because it promises a lot but delivers death and destruction…

There are demonstrations in the Muslim world and the west, why do you think rumsfeld keeps on mentioning the khilafah, why is the rand corporation writing about this, why is the cia writing about this, There are thousands of members of hizb ut tahrir in the prisons of central asia. Why did Musharraf mention us when he came to England because it is a reality no matter what you want to believe.
When nationalism took root with the arabs and turks it was easy to split them as nationalism is always divisive. It was not because of Islam.

Raihan, I'm not saying it was because of Islam, I'm saying Muslims hate each other. They hate Palestinians. I've lived in Lebanon and met with Arabs from various countries and each one of them has referred to the Palis as Palipigs. You expect the Muslims to be united after so much hate they have for one another?

The value of gold is defined by weight and there is no price fixing hence is not the same scenario as bretton woods. Paper currency represents weight of gold.
Which books would you recommend to read on the subject. I recommend you read 'The Economic System of Islam by Taqiuddin an Nabhani', it's available online. It'll answer your questions in more detail. As well as refuting capitalism and socialism it presents the Islamic economic system in detail.
We will encourage defaulting as that is the only solution for Africa and all third world countries. It will have a negative effect on western economies but who cares? Isn't that the real message we learnt from bretton woods when creditor nations were not to feel any shame asking for payment of debts when debtor nations couldn't pay?
Didn't Brazil or Argentina default on their loans? I think it was last year I can't really remember. They saw defaulting as the solution not SAPs.

Muslims discovered America 600 years before columbus. I shouldn't really say discovered as there were people already living there. We conducted trade with them. Some converted to Islam.
In spain Muslims learnt greek to understand greek philosophy. After the fall of spain , Europe inherited our books, and this was the birth of westen civilisation. They were nothing and would still be nothing if Muslims didn't translate those books.
It was after the fall of spain that Columbus(who some say was a jew living under Islamic spain before the spanish inquisition) wanted to go east to india but the queen wouldn't give him permission because you see they still believed the earth was flat and didn't want to prove the Christian belief wrong and prove Islam right.
