Islami Jamhoori Ittehad

Re: Islami Jamhoori Ittehad

yep, certainly. Military would never want a former general convicted.

MQM extensively talking to PPP recently... Kiyani seen on political scene.... Anyone can make out why the old ghosts are being resurrected.

Personal attacks ignored!

PPP has won many times and lost many a times because of their own behavior.

No matter how you guys lust for conspiracies, it is not going to help.

Again a lie. Can you prove what you are saying? PPP lost one election in the 90’s. NS of PML (N) won with heavy mandate perhaps 100% seats at that time. That is one time when PPP lost. But sooner Mush kicked him out with full mendate boot on his butt.:) Now tell me how many elections of national assembly were held on party basis, and how many times PPP was loser? As I said in other thread, your knowledge is based on what you think, not on what actually happened. You have to come out from this schizophrenia.

They lost in 1997 too, actually in 1990 they managed just 40 or so seats, in 1996 it was around just 20?

I hope PPP can come out of their Bhutto/Zardari/Sindhi phobia and can truly become a democratic/national party. After all it is the most liberal and represents and was formed to represent the poor masses of the country !!! This ideology of the party is what our country needs but unfortunately this national institution has been hijacked by one family who want to use the paty to establish their dynastic rule in the country !!!

And don't defend this argument with PML N being a family party as well.. I am talking about PPP and would like to see this national asset not being destroyed by one family who have made this institution as their private limited company !!!

Can you provide links what you are saying? Here is the table which shows PPP lost two times. In 1990 military/ISI spent billions to form an artificial alliance to force PPP to lose the elections. That Iam not going to consider as fair elections on level field. Similarly PPP lost elections in 1997, where as NS got almost 100% seats later on kicked hard on his butt by Mush in 1999.

Whenever fair elections were held in past, PPP have always grabbed more seats than any other party. However after demise of BB, I am not sure what will be the scenario. If future politics based on ethnicity and regional basis which seemed to be the trend, then PML(N) will be the major winner on the basis of Punjabi population. PPP and mqm by default will become regional parties, perhaps demand for full autonomy or even separation from Punjab.

Read under year. The program does not allow to paste exact table.

N.B: All elections were contested under a separate electorate system, the 1990 elections had allegations of vote-rigging confirmed by foreign observers.[3] The ‘MQM’ contested the 1988 elections under the name Haq Parast group, it boycotted the 1993 National elections.[4]
