I think it is called Benazir International airport but I am not sure if this name would stick for long. What happens if some anti-PPP gov takes over or wins an election. I suggest we should refrain from naming landmarks after political leaders. I propose a new name for this airport ‘Arfa karim International Airport’, after someone whose achievement can easily be quantified. What you folks think?

We used to have a colony near our place of residence that was named Zia-ul-Haq colony, later changed to Nusrat Bhutto colony. We can tell why.

City airports need to be named after either the cities, or mutually revered personalities like Allama Iqbal. To name any airport anywhere after the local tribesman, or a political personality should be avoided.
Islamabad International Airport needs to remain Islamabad International Airport. Just my personal opinion.

I agree with that one. Zia barely deserved a personal tombstone let lone an entire colony named for him.

The airport should be renamed to include names of the incumbent president and our three future prime ministers. It should be like:** Benazir-Zardari-Bilawal-Bakhtwar-Asifa International Airport*. It may be abbreviated to **BZBBA International*.
And Islamabad should be renamed Bhuttoabad. After all that's what Pakistan was made for.

PPP is a personality worshiping party, so it makes sense for them to name every dump after their equally inept leaders. After having traveled through what is perhaps the worst airport in Pakistan, I think calling it Benazir Airport is apt. Name suits the place.

When Sindh was hit with the worst flooding in decades, there was a suggestion to rename the province to "Mohtarma Benzir Bhutto Shaheed Water Park".

Agreed. You live by the sword, be prepared to die by it. 
It’s the war of power and position, if one doesn’t want to die, then stay home. This doesn’t go for Buttos only, but every politician and public figure. It’d be quite a scene in the afterlife when everyone finds out that a lot of so called “Shaheeds” were not. This is after all, for Allah to decide.

I think its not in just Pakistan but in all the muslim world , rulers name buildings on their name , only because they think that it will be the only way that people will remember them once they'll be gone .
I wish they could do some good for humanity and people could remember them for it .

What’s even more pathetic is that the 26 that were, um, killed, really got killed. No one remembers them, and the PPP (or should I say PPPP) never cared for their families, announced something for them or their children after coming into power. This is one government in the world (not the PPP, pretty much most governments of Pakistan) where the bank checks they give to poor bounce because of no funds.

If you are talking about Nusrat Bhutto Colony Karachi , It was with same mame since 70s.
