After studying quran for more than 5 months i have been so far impressed with islam. I haven’t realized and always underestimated KorAN. Islam always been mis-intrpreted in eye of many people and that inculded me. The saying of prophet Mohammad----Al-Hadith..overly impressed me as well as his attitude toward life. Since iam minoring in islamic studies..i’ve begun to go to local mosque and attended dars and friday sermon. I hope it will give me more chance to learn.

Go learn the history of Islam. If you did, perhaps you've heard of names like Abdul Qadir al Jilani, Imam al Ghazali, Ali Hajveri and the list goes on.

Not ALL Muslim scholars were Sufis. Some scholars were Sufis. There were plenty of other esteemed scholars who were Sunnis, such as Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn al Qayyim, Imaams Hanifah, Shafi, Hanbal, Malik, and many more.

Well all I have to say in this regard to Israeli Girl is that it is a wise decision she has made. First learn, understand and then do what your heart says. Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance, so keep it to that.

But the immediate question that raises in my mind is “What attracted you in Islam that was so compelleing to pull you into its study beyond this being a Minor subject in your studies as you are now going to the local mosque and listening to the dars”
The dream you wrote here a few days back that you heard the voice of “Azaan” “sermon for prayer” was quite a menifest dream (In my opinion).

Remember Islam is the latest and most universal version of the same monotheistic Truth that was revealed by Allah/God/Jehovah to all His Prophets including Solomon, David, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Moses, Aaron, Jesus and now Muhammed (peace and blessings of God be upon them all).

sharaabi, i find it my religious obligation that when a person not acquainted to Islam tries to lean about Islam, I tell him/her that phoney Islamic systems like sufism etc r not the real Islam and if he/she wishes to learn Islam than not to look at them, so that he/she may not be misguided from the very beginning....
