faceup:

You are jumping the gun here. Hold your horses whether we accept them or not. This is the first time you have provided some references and now we can discuss the fundamentals.

faceup: The first thing very noticable is that you have quoted ahadith. How come? Since when have you started believing in ahadith? In any case, this is good sign. It proves that we can also quote ahadith, just as you have quoted them, right?

  1. Jihad: Yes, it is an integral part of muslim beliefs: both internal and external jehad. You still didn't give any evidence as to why it is a fundamental belief. Let me give you some quranic ayat so you can quote them next time you want to discuss jihad:

Jihad:
- striving hard against disbelievers, 9:73, 25:52, 66:9
- striving hard in Allah's cause, 2:218, 3:142, 4:95, 5:35, 5:54, 8:72, 8:74-75, 9:16, 9:19-20, 9:24, 9:44, 9:86, 9:88, 22:78, 29:6, 29:69, 49:15, 60:1, 61:11

  1. Imam: Thats your favourite topic, huh? Okay. [bani Isra'il 17:71] One day We shall call together all human beings with their (respective) Imams: those who are given their record in their right hand will read it (with pleasure), and they will not be dealt with unjustly in the least.. Remember, you were the one who quoted this ayat first. I only corrected you that this ayat is addressed to all human beings and not just to muslims. Therefore the word "Imamahum" refers to the guides or the Prophets. How could you narrowly interpret it to mean only your ahle-bayat imams? Insha Allah all of us will be called together with our Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be Upon Him).

  2. Tahara: You didn't give any referennce, so I am assuming you don't have any. I will help you there. There is a hadith which says (closest meaning) "Taharat is half imaan". So yes it is a very important part of muslim imaan.

See, it wasn't so difficult, faceup. If instead of song and dance, you give references, discussions can go ahead much smoothly. As I suspected from the beginning, there isn't anything controversial in the fundamentals, but the way you were trying to force them down without any reference was unacceptable.

faceup, it takes time to research a topic on Islam. I suggest you do research first and then post anything, instead of firing blank shots on sunnis all the time, assuming we will oppose whatever you say. There might be instances where we agree, only if the argument is presented with references and evidence.

Cheer Up now. Adios!
