Is that attending a dance party and then coming home and doing Isha? Is that being good with people but not caring much about obligatory Ibadaat? Is it Just doing minimum of whatever is required as Huqooq-ul-allah and no more.
Re: Islam is a moderate religion: Your definition.
Tlk bro hum ( atleast I can say this about my self )..hum Islam ke bare Mai bohot selective ho Gaye hain...
Jo bat Hume pasand hai ya Jo Hume suite karti hai hum uski sahi sabit Karne ke liye hum dhair sari hadees search Kare ge argument Kare ge..
Like you said going into dance party and then isha namaz then i would say * zahir hai society mai rehna hai to logo ke sath uthna bethna to pare ga*
And for every other question I have one answer ..niyato ka tou Allah ko pata hai meri niyat saf hai..
Hum sahi bat ko search Karne ya sabot Karne Ki koshish nahi karte sirf khud ko sahi sabot Karne Mai lagay rehte hain.
Re: Islam is a moderate religion: Your definition.
Hum jiss baat ko sahi sabit karnay key koshish kartay hain , woh hamaree nazar main toh sahi hee hay magar dunya , saboot mangti hay lihaza hum loug hadees talash kar k apni sahi baat ko dosroon per sabit kartay hain.
Re: Islam is a moderate religion: Your definition.
But we can always be fundamentally religious and argue that Islam is a very intense religion - and we can easily find hadees that support the stance.
Point is not to debate whether I can mold Islam per my wishes. All I am asking is that IF you believe that Islam is a moderate religion, then what is the definition of moderation.
Re: Islam is a moderate religion: Your definition.
Moderate Islam is when you do things for the sake of Allah and don't shove your opinions on other people and judge the heck out of them. Moderate Islam is being realistic and not thinking you have to blow up people to practice jihad. Moderate Islam is observing your fundamentals and then learning to balance the rest with your life goals.
Re: Islam is a moderate religion: Your definition.
One of the words from where this word has stemmed is Ummat e Wast.
Allaah Subhaanahu wa Taaala says in the Noble Quraan, what could be translated as, "Thus We have made you [Muslims] a Wasat nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger Muhammad be a witness over you"Suraha Baqara Ayah 143.
In Arabic dictionary, the term Wasat has three meanings. The three meanings are: to be moderate, to be in the middle, and to be the best. Therefore, when Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta`aala describes the Muslim Ummah as a nation that is Wasat, Allaah means that we are moderate, we are an Ummah that is in the middle, and that we are the best nation.
Ulema has tried to explain why our ummat is called this , for example
Imaam Ibn Taymiyyah said, "Islam as a religion is the midpoint among all other religions. The Muslims believe in the messengers of Allaah in a moderate way. For example, they do not go to extremes in their beliefs about the Prophets as the Christians do, nor do they put the messengers at such a low status, as do the Jews. The Muslims always stand in the middle when it comes to all matters of Deen."
To me Moderate means just following our religion, not to add some thing in it , not to delete any thing, not to make some haram as halal or vice versa. It has nothing to do with gunahs waghaira.
Any mujahid doing jihad and following his deen is a moderate muslim by this defination inshallah.
Re: Islam is a moderate religion: Your definition.
When people use the term "Islam is a moderate religion" in the context that TLK has provided then they mean by saying this that:
"Islam is a set of guidelines and not a set of rules and prescriptions"
So they mean by following their own idea of the guides, employ concessions where they deem fit, do certain things in Islam in their own chosen way and every now and again enjoying life in their most desired ways is all part of being a Muslim. So long as they love their religion and are proud of being Muslim then everything else within the religion is relative ...
>>> Disclaimer <<<<
The above points are not my own, because I don't believe Islam is a moderate religion, but I say Islam is the way that encourages us to become excellent individuals.
Re: Islam is a moderate religion: Your definition.
According to popular understanding, moderate Islam is somewhere between Salman Rushdie and Osama.
That may well be true about the masses ... but I contest this because then if on both sides of the spectrum we have antagonists Salman and the image of Osama then people in the middle will be antagonists too. Can you provide another two people where one side is considered all embracing lovey dovey and the other side staunch and strict?
Re: Islam is a moderate religion: Your definition.
I've friends through out the world and yes i meet & eat with them. We never try to discuss sensitive issues of religion but if any one start then yes I'm conservative about defending Islam. I attend parties and offer pray on my return to my room. People say your Namaz is useless if you are spending European type life but i say Namaz if Farz and we can't leave it on any cost. For me Namaz and Sawab is only between me & my God and I Know what are my limits and I never try to cross those limits.
Baqi Allah say Dua to main mangta he hoon kah naiki key hidayat day aur gunahoon say bacha kar rakh keonkah maira aimaan buhat kamzoor hay :(
Re: Islam is a moderate religion: Your definition.
Bhai Bihari Sahib I never claiming that I"m a True Muslim but I always seek for guidance from my God. I don't know what has been written in these books but let me tell you one thing about fundamentalist Molvi Sahiban. Once I offered my pray in a mosque (but i'll not tell you that which maslak's mosque) as i finish my pray and on the gate sit and start binding laces of my shoe. Then a Molvi appear from the mosque and start saying "Yahadeon key shubahat rakhnay wallay par Allah key laa'nat, unn jaisa libbas pahanay waloon par bla bla " I only said Moulana Sahib main iss masjid main dobara kabhi naheen aaon ga aur jitnay bhi loog jinn say aap yah Bud Tameezi karain Gaiay woh kabhi naheen aain Gaiy, Aab mujhay aap yah batain kah aap ko iss faraz kay ser anjaam dainay par kitnay nawafil ka sawab millay ga ? "
I hate these type of Mulla's who are making our religion so much difficult.
