This topic really upsets me. A husband is supposed to love, care and protect his wife, not demand sex from her if she’s not feeling well or just not in the mood. Using the Quran is basically emotional blackmail if the parties involved are religious.
Also, why can’t a wife demand sex from her husband in Islam? Yeah men and women were TOTALLY created equal in Islam

No one can "demand", but both partners can openly express the desire to each other.
As far as the number 72 is concerned, in Arabic grammar it means many many. It's not a specific quantity.
The virgins that are promised in paradise are both male and female, and are promised to all the jannatis (both men and women)
