Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report
They were killed because they didn't obey the rules of 'kill everyone in your way' by ISIS. Basically, they rebelled against ISIS. If a non-muslim country like UK can spare some mercy for these people I'm sure muslims can do the same. Or perhaps not. We have become blood-thirsty people. Go on...carrying on applauding the murders of people whose lives could've been normalized. Carry on applauding ISIS.

We are not sure if they had changed. They made a choice and paid for it, nothing to do with us. Now its a matter between them, ISIS and Allah. If they were innocent they'd be forgiven and if not they will pay a price even after their death. I am sure even these events will not deter those aspiring to join ISIS to create a global caliphate.
Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report
I don't celebrate their death, but I certainly don't mourn it neither. They knowingly made their choice, and they traveled to participate in warfare, not to hand out balloons and flowers.
They represent an utterly twisted mindset, which they ironically, became victims of themselves.
Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report
This one is being justified in a most peculiar way by some of us.
no one is justifying it...the biggest blame still lay upon those who made their choices. i personally dont think anyone who has spent some time with mass killers can become normal human afterwards. anyways i am out, lets agree to disagree. The people are already dead, its only Allah now who can decide their fate.
Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report
These were young people. Who wanted to reverse course. Was disappointed with the reason given - they didn't want to fight rebel groups. Since they went to fight Assad regime.
In other words, it wasn't ISIS brutal tactics that appeared to bother them. It was the opponents they were made to fight against.
Since the world had sufficient information on the brutal tactics ISIS used, the reasons given indicate a lack of repentance wrt these tactics.
So am divided. For everyone deserves a second chance. If they truly repent. For the right reasons.

Southie ... Two posts I have seen from you recently - and both of them show signs of a fair mind. Hats off to you man.
Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report
This is the beginning of the implosion process ...
It has happened before ... our dear Shuyukh have already given forecast of this ... extreme groups have a habit of imploding ... because the route for escape is not there. You are either with them and fighting or not with them and that will cause huge issues. The minions don't realise it ... but it is a matter of time. At the moment the dissenters are probably learning that that lifestyle is too heavy going for them. They are probably being called spies or murtads and killed. This is going to be recalibrate the external view of them and support will stop. Internally they will become more desperate and confidence in leadership will drop and conflict will begin.
I believe people who are truly repentant need to be helpful to their home countries ... yes they may be arrested, but if they help them out and then go on to be contributors to building a good society then may be they can earn some forgiveness. They should not have gone in the first place.
Terrorists arent immune to guilt, fear, and other maladies of the human psyche. PTSD must be rife among these people. and the realization that they have burned all their bridges is a harsh reality to live in. May this be a wake up call for fools everywhere.

Most of the fighters must be in the dark over much of what happens.
I think those in Raqa havent been exposed to the atrocities being committed in Iraq, and have only been made to fight in Syria, where most of the fighting is against rebel groups. I suspect that they dont have access to reports from Iraq both because the news is first filtered through ISIS for their consumption, and because they dont have time for or access to the net.
Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

No, blame lies with their parents, their mosques/mullahs and them...who sent them to ISIS. Btw, I have been to UK few times and I have to say that their PC politicians are destroying once beautiful country by letting these type of made crazy mullahs in and letting them spew hatred from their mosques. In any case, I have no sympathy for them...they made their bed, now let them lie in it.
Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report
I feel sorry for them because most of these jihadi are young men and have no idea what are they getting themselves into. I read somewhere that UK plans to deal with jihadis returning from Syria by putting them into some sort of rehab.
Obviously, this was expected from ISIS killers but I would never applaud them for their barbaric actions even if the killed were their own.
rehab seriously? jail would be best or at least exile them. No need to waste resources on them who went to the other side to establish caliphate in a heartbeat

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report
And jail costs nothing?
probably less than rehab. And these people don't deserve a rehab. Today you are giving rehab to them, tomorrow someone will be proposing a rehab for the likes of TTP.

I think UK government knows what it's doing when it comes to finances. They wouldn't spend an extra single penny if it's not worth it.
Besides, even inside prisons they have rehab facilities sometimes. Anyway, I think it's only on the paper right now, they haven't decided on it...still thinking about it.
Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report
It depends on why they were trying to quit. If they were quitting because they were not getting fair-share then I don't care for their executions, but if they were quitting as they may have witnessed injustice in their (ISIS) actions then we should not be rejoicing on such executions. Remember, we have far more luxury of seeing ISIS brutalities from outside, but from inside not everyone may be able to see the inhumane actions of their colleagues in other parts of the country etc.
Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report
and how will you screen the returnees for actual reason for return? how do you verify they themselves werent killers? remember - even professional soldiers with all their training and access to mental healthcare end up with PTST and war trauma, and have a hard time fitting back into civil society. who will be responsible if ISIS returnees after their reform camp go back to being crazy psychos who dont respect their own life? will you want to live next to an ex-ISIS jihadi? will you be ok with your kid's schoolbus driver being one? rehab sounds nice, practically speaking - not possible without spending a vast amount on a support network. just import some poor rwandans or hmong refugees instead, they will contribute to society.
