IS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

London (AFP) - The Islamic State extremist group has executed 100 of its own foreign fighters who tried to flee their headquarters in the Syrian city of Raqqa, the Financial Times newspaper said Saturday.

IS fighters in Raqqa said the group has created a military police to clamp down on foreign fighters who do not report for duty. Dozens of homes have been raided and many jihadists have been arrested, the FT reported.

Some jihadists have become disillusioned with the realities of fighting in Syria, reports have said.

According to the British press in October, five Britons, three French, two Germans and two Belgians wanted to return home after complaining that they ended up fighting against other rebel groups rather than Assad’s regime. They were being held prisoner by IS.

In total, between 30 and 50 Britons want to return but fear they face jail, according to researchers at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation at King’s College London, which had been contacted by one of the jihadists speaking on their behalf.

Since a US-led coalition began a campaign of air strikes against IS in August, the extremist group has lost ground to local forces and seen the number of its fighters killed rise significantly.

There have been a string of apparent setbacks for IS in recent weeks.

Iraqi Kurds claimed Thursday to have broken a siege on a mountain where Yazidi civilians and fighters have long been trapped.

The Kurdish advances came during a two-day blitz in the Sinjar region involving 8,000 peshmerga fighters and some of the heaviest air strikes since a US-led coalition started an air campaign four months ago.

Meanwhile Thursday, the Pentagon said several IS leaders had been killed in US air strikes.

In 40 days across October and November, some 2,000 air raids killed more than 500 people, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitoring group, which relies on a network of sources on the ground.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

This is the beginning of the implosion process ...

It has happened before ... our dear Shuyukh have already given forecast of this ... extreme groups have a habit of imploding ... because the route for escape is not there. You are either with them and fighting or not with them and that will cause huge issues. The minions don't realise it ... but it is a matter of time. At the moment the dissenters are probably learning that that lifestyle is too heavy going for them. They are probably being called spies or murtads and killed. This is going to be recalibrate the external view of them and support will stop. Internally they will become more desperate and confidence in leadership will drop and conflict will begin.

I believe people who are truly repentant need to be helpful to their home countries ... yes they may be arrested, but if they help them out and then go on to be contributors to building a good society then may be they can earn some forgiveness. They should not have gone in the first place.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

I feel sorry for them because most of these jihadi are young men and have no idea what are they getting themselves into. I read somewhere that UK plans to deal with jihadis returning from Syria by putting them into some sort of rehab.

Obviously, this was expected from ISIS killers but I would never applaud them for their barbaric actions even if the killed were their own.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

100 less terrorists for the world to worry about...

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

You said almost the same thing in post#2.

They regretted their decision to join ISIS and probably refused killing innocents and as a result they were killed.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

They made a wrong choice, and its about right that they paid price for it. I hope this would serve as a deterrent for countless others who want to join the likes of ISIS in the future.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

^So ISIS did the right thing by executing these people?

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

ISIS cleaned out some poop that would otherwise have floated back into civilized societies. not everyone deserves second chances and rehab. a lot of more deserving people on this earth who don't even get a first chance at life.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

yes...these people have caused immense sufferings in Syria and Iraq, I think justice has been done.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

These people may not have killed a fly. What a twisted idea of justice!

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

And guess who those deserving of second chance people are? Your psycho Americans who tortured the hell out of prisoners.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

There are some voices here that do not understand forgiveness and repentance … They need to be aware that if they leave this world with no rahma (Mercy) for others than they should not hope for rahma from Allah (SWT).

We should be like our dear prophet (SAW) he is our role model and he sought many ways to forgive people. Forgiveness is a very powerful mechanism for humanity and it encourages goodness …

Listen to this Christian man who forgives his daughter’s murderer.

And listen to Tariq Jahan

RasoolAllah (SAW) forgave the killer of Sayyiduna Hamza (RA) the prophet’s uncle

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

Hang all of them

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

once again, your inferiority complex about americans shows up to say hello on some irrelevant topic.

americans dont need forgiveness from the likes of jihadi apologists like you.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

I dont know if they had killed a fly or not. At the end of the day they were killed by the same group which they joined by leaving their families and suffering hardships. Naturally it should be them who should bear the responsibility for their ordeal in this world and the hereafter.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

Qur'an Surah 107

Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?
For that is the one who drives away the orphan
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
So woe to those who pray
[But] who are heedless of their prayer -
Those who make show [of their deeds]
And withhold [simple] assistance. *

  • The last line also means - and withold little acts of kindness

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

Surah 5 verse 45

And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is legal retribution. But whoever gives [up his right as] charity, it is an expiation for him. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed – then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

Peace queer

Even you can be forgiven … surprising as it may sound …

Re: ISIS has executed 100 foreigners trying to quit: report

But what were their intentions, and what sort of societies were they going to help form?

Personally I think they found out that watching other human beings suffer isn't as easy in person, than its merely reading and hearing about it.

They were executed for treason, and these people support death penalty for treason. Basically they got punished with the same form of penalty (for treason) which they support.

I feel sorry for their families.
