These were young people. Who wanted to reverse course. Was disappointed with the reason given - they didn’t want to fight rebel groups. Since they went to fight Assad regime.

In other words, it wasn’t ISIS brutal tactics that appeared to bother them. It was the opponents they were made to fight against.

Since the world had sufficient information on the brutal tactics ISIS used, the reasons given indicate a lack of repentance wrt these tactics.

So am divided. For everyone deserves a second chance. If they truly repent. For the right reasons.

Most of the fighters must be in the dark over much of what happens.

I think those in Raqa havent been exposed to the atrocities being committed in Iraq, and have only been made to fight in Syria, where most of the fighting is against rebel groups. I suspect that they dont have access to reports from Iraq both because the news is first filtered through ISIS for their consumption, and because they dont have time for or access to the net.
