This is the thing with Fauji haters. Their sheer ignorance about military is astonishing but they still chat so much crap with confidence. Now let’s decipher this rubbish claim that ISI was planning to overthrow the government and COAS had no idea.

For dummies - ISI and Pakistan military are same thing. You have to live under a rock to even assume that DG ISI can be up to something so major and COAS won’t have any idea about it. You really think ISI will betray Military like this? If Gen Zaheer was planning this dharna, then that means Gen Raheel was also involved as Gen Zaheer worked under his command towards the end of his career. This is how military command and discipline works - the top boss is always aware of the plans, and he approved strategies.

If Gen Zaheer planned this dharna while he was the head of ISI, then that means it was by default ISI’s official strategy which was to be followed by Gen Rizwan who was DG ISI when dharna was taking place.

If Gen Zaheer did not tell Gen Raheel about this huge conspiracy to overthrow the government while Zarb e Azb is going on and a plot to get him involved in politics, then that itself is a treason against the institution, and Gen Zaheer can be court martial.

So really all these conspiracy theories typical fauji haters are coming up with has no legs to stand on. This whole smokescreen that we are not gonna bark against Gen Raheel but we are going to malign his staff is total nonsense. Military men, retired or serving, do not go against the wishes of their COAS or do anything behind his back. ISI and Pakistan Military are same - in any case, DG ISI is the right hand man of COAS - the brain behind all his policies.

Wait till Gen Raheel and Gen Rizwan retires, and see how all these hypocrites bash them and come up with conspiracy theories to malign them. Cowards.

All this above really proves is that it is high time that ISI is decoupled from the army. Sure, you can appoint military people has head of ISI (or whatever new name the organization gets) like Israel does for Mossad, but the agency still isn’t a ***** for the army served by the butler of the israeli 3 or 4 star general. Army already has MI, so they don’t need two intelligence agencies.

As for the typical burgers who have gotten fat on army pork who’ll complain about bloody civilians not being “trustable”, please let me know what was ISI doing when thousands of pakistanis died at the hands of taliban over the last decade before the peshawar attack. Wasn’t ISI derelict in its duties of defending Pakistan (and by extension, Pakistanis) from harm?

To Imran’s credit, even he hasn’t said that ISI shouldn’t do intelligence operations against TTP etc. It is time that ‘bloody civilians’ who don’t live in DHAs also get protected by the agencies that they fund and who swear to protect Pakistan. I’ll support Imran khan with if he asks for the decoupling of ISI-army nexus and heck, even nawaz sharif if he says so…
