There is an Ijma on what I am saying for 1500 years. If you can prove it otherwise I will be delighted to read.

“Ijma” doesn’t make something “fard” or “wajib”, these are scholarly opinions hence ‘recommendation’. Its weird that people are okay with ‘masah’ on ‘leather socks’ but they can’t do ‘masah’ on actual feet which is clearly stated in Quran.
