Now one more critical source who misreported this was Farid Zakariya of CNN GPS, he anchored the HBO documentary which also levelled a lot of mindset from it.

because this 'revelation' is not official. It was a remark by someone which was narrated by someone else during an unrelated investigation.
Unless the boys can come up with an alternate credible story, our government wouldn't really want to make a statement which might embarrass it further.

There are a million conspiracy theories presented in Pakistan every day. Do we investigate everything?
The idea is simple. If Pakistani government investigated stuff and presented findings before people, things would clear up. What do we do? Brush everything under the carpet.

we are not discussing TTP here, I am not fan of zaid hamid, but there should be some statements from government its not a small issue.
I agree, but don’t you think its not a small issue, its the headlines of every news paper, media, there should be some official statements from both governments, just bc things didn’t happen before does not mean we should ignore this stuff.

I don't think governments should issue statements on conspiracy theories. Newspapers are just trying to sell what sells.
