Is this Right?

Ok seriously
last time i went to karachi …there was this milad invitation I got
it was during the month of Rabi ul Awal

So i went
i have no idea what sect or what group of whatever these people belong to

The milad was ok, it was a normal one
what happened afterwards was very strange
after the salam and dua
all the people were told to make a line
and every body was very eager to get in the line
there was a room, it had white sheets on the floor
in the middle stood a table

on it were bout two three things
being curious and clueless i stood in the line too

and i was shown ‘hair’ i think there was a tooth and one other thing i have forgotten

the ladies over there were going crazy after seeing the stuff and i got scared
so i came out not knowing what i had just seen

then when i came out this other lady comes to me with these ‘hankies’ and says these are parhay howay hankies
if you have some manat, take one
manat mango and if it comes true you have to do something

Ok later i got to know when i asked someone that the hair and the tooth and this other item actually belonged to The Propeht

i was like haan how can you be sure
kher i still dont believe they did belong to
The Prophet and i dont think the behaviour of the ladies was acceptable

kher so is this right
showing people stuff and claiming that its The Prophet’s
How can be sure that it is?
Arent they making these poor women bewaqoof?
and whats this with manat mangna ?

This is a distorted face of Islam... such are the innovations which drifted Muslims further from the actual teachings.

In short such rituals broadly lacks any rationality and spirituality. Turn the pages of history you will never find such customs of milad, niaz, koonday, soyam, chaleeswaan, wagaira wagaira… in the life time of Prophet Mohammad or the caliphs or the sahaba….

Precisely it is a mélange of culture and religion harvested to fill their spiritual emptiness.

Such types of Milad's are Bid'a (Inovation in Deen)

Just how did they get hold of the hair etc

(The only actual evidence I’ve seen is at the musuem at Istanbul)

Who says nothing is impossible? I’ve been doing nothing all my life!

Bunch of non-sense i tell ya...bunch of non-sense...its all fake and pleasing to ones self...thats all!

Jaagtey rehna...merey pe na rehna ;)

its called 'biddat'
even milads adn niyaz and all.
its all biddat....lots of gunnah for that...

Events such as these prompted my family to stop having/attending milaads.

Sad thing because I really enjoyed the singing part. I think I'll have to "innovate" and come up with a "purified" version of milaad where all we do is sing praises......nothing more.

Hey i didnt know that milads n stuff r bidat or watever that is.. like its not allowed rite ?!?!??! i DIDNT KNOW THAT !!!!

well sadia, like they say, everyday you learn something new!

They are all sins and not part of Islam, rather late added stuff as a good deed. Which is wrong.

Dear Muzna,

There is no purified version of a bad-innovated deed. Anything you innovate in Islam is bid’ah and every Bid’ah has a place in Hell. Islam was completed at the time of Mohammad and Allah has testified that in Quran. We should go by his example and not add new things in Islam.

Take it easy…

'prayer is better then sleep' ...didnt he add that? first answer that

these types of blubders are breaking Isam in parts. and such types of milad are just near to kufr and i think it is kufr.

I wonder what were you doing there, and were u wearing the same burqah?

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif

no offence plz.

Nobody is perfect, I’m Nobody, this implies that I’m perfect.

Ok, I will answer that.

Just for the sake of the argument: Isn’t prayer better than sleep? Or you think not?

Another question…Is azan essential part of Namaz??

In Pakistan people get a bit too over the hook and this nonsense starts to happen well I'm glad Allah has shown me all this is not right!

OUR LORD! WE HAVE INDEED HEARD THE VOICE OF A CRIER(MESSENGER)CALLING TO THE FAITH: "BELIVE IN YOUR LORD" SO WE BELIVED. OUR LORD! FORGIVE US THEN OUR SINS, AND REMOVE FROM US OUR EVIL DEEDS, AND CAUSE US DIE ALONG WITH THE VIRTUOUS

(3:193)

Ok fellas…since all of you are going in one direction, lets spice up the things here. If I agreed with all of you, I won’t post. In this case, I don’t…

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif

I have no idea, whether those hair, shown in that milad were real/genuine or not. Lets assume they were. It is claimed that these are from the Prophet (SAWW). There are still quite a few around, and it is not totally impossible. Just as some of the items used by the Prophet (SAWW) are still preserved in a museum in Turkey, similarly, some of these items are carried on some families for generations. Some of them are genuine.

So whats the significance of this…

Other than the fact that they are Prophet’s (SAWW) hair, I dunno, if there is any other significance attached. I mean, if someone claims they have an item used by the Prophet (SAWW) or a hair, I would be curious to see it. I will also be respectful. Curiosity part is natural. If you have a walking stick of Winston Churchill, for example. I’d like to see it as well…its not a crime. To associate super-natural powers to items associated with the Prophet (SAWW) is something I don’t understand, don’t believe to be very true and certainly won’t recommend to anyone.

Re: the milad part. I dunno what sort of practices are you folks referring to which are unislamic. I have never been to a milad, except in some cases where naat-khwans come and recite/offer hamd and naats (devotional poetry in praise of Allah and the Prophet (SAWW)). A milad, I would have naturally assumed, would compose of quran khwani (in some cases), hamd and naat, prayers (usually Maghrib prayers) and (hopefully) dinner… Is there something else there too … ???

My advise:
If you believe that the:

  • items on display are not genuine,
  • you are not the curious nature,
  • don’t believe looking at these items will do anything for you,
  • don’t wanna pray your heart out while looking at these items,
  • stuff happening in milad is unislamic,
  • milad itself is a bidda bcz the Prophet (SAWW) never celebrated milad in his honour,
  • all the above are just a ‘dhong’ perpetrated by clever ppl to deceive innocent muslims,
  • all the above, will endanger your imaan and might transform you into a kaafir/mushrik/ignorant/hindu whatever…

then…

STAY AWAY & CRITICIZE ALL THIS TILL YOUR INDIGESTION GETS TO MORE COMFORTABLE LEVELS !!!

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif

*PS. It is my personal experience that lotsa ppl (especially in Pak) are very troubled ppl with lots of paraishaniaan. They will cling to any hope, any support, if it can help. They sometimes forget that we pray in our namaaz “iyaak a nabadu wa iyaak a nastaeen”. All these stuff is propagated to target this audience. Ppl do tend to believe that it may work. Who knows, it may…

ur 2nd khalifa added onto Azaan..thats BIDAT!!! ur answer doesnt satisfy any sensible person watcher..i thought u would come up with a better answer..sorry u dissappointed me..but i know u had no chance to satisfy me

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/wink.gif

after all he did do bidat

I just saw this thread and sherazz if u have anything to say about this topic than please do.WHY have you to start a shia/sunni fight here as well by bringing up 2nd khalifa etc.If you believe that what watcher is calling a biddat in this thread is not a bidat than please go ahead and say so.I am writing this specially becuase in another thread you say you want unity followed by the words 'it must come from both sides'.Then why do you try to pick fights where there are none going on.It's not as if this is the first time you have raised that issue.Hope you get the point.

P.S.I know you wrote in the other thread later but just trying to point out that this is the way fights start here.the other side did nothing in this thread.
