Isl,
i totally agree with you...its absurd really and is getting more and more common by the day, ppl are begining to forget there was a reason why partition took place in the first place, the 2 nation theory...but unfortunately the media has been wiping out all that, everyone keeps saying things like "both countries are the same" "they are one" "we have the same culture" and so on, going abit too far in the pursuit of making peace, its true to seme extent we are similar, but its getting a bit too much, the hindus always said there was no need for a divided india for muslims and hindus, but lately our muslims are turning out to be quite foolish in starting to believe them...and forget what our forefathers fought for; the new generation doesnt think it was important at all...and they keep mixing the cultures...its very distressing...
That's not a Pakistani website; it is fully conceivable that the designers of the website, not knowing the differences between Pakistani and Indian culture (dress, etc) simply used a picture of an Indian dancer. They may have been unable to find one of a Pakistani that was to their tastes.
Well, seems Pakistani to me, its part of our culture.
If you dont think it is then you need to define what YOU think Pakistani culture IS… A brief description of your understaning of Ppakistani culture would help this discussion immensly.
WAKE UP PEOPLE... We are Indian, not Arab not Persian, INDIAN. Countires might have different names, but we have the same culture.
Much of the languages we speak, the food we eat, the way we think (eg on health and medicine) its all Indian. And WHATS WRONG WITH THAT?

Wake Up! You are Indian, not me, not millions of Pakistanis. We are not Arabs either, nor Perisans. We are Pakistanis and Pakistanis and Indians are 2 separate nationalities, and most importantly cultures.
We do not have the same culture. If you say that we are, than you are denying your existance as a Pakistani and also the words of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Wake up !!!! Its not too late!
i think the woman is the classical dancer Sheema Kirmani, or smthng like that. shes an actress too.
we are not indian! and like i said in my above post, we have a lot comon with other inhabitants of the subcontinent because we lived together fro centuries, but we have our seperate identity, seperate culture rooting from Islamic tradition, which is very rich and diff from the hindus etc, no matter where we came fom, Iran, iraq, Hijaz, whatever! ppl seem to think this, dancing women, is our culture...thats part of hindu religion by the way, ever wonder why they hold classical dance so close to heart, singing and dancing is part of hindu religion, the practising of it...
Its called BHARAT Natyam, and kathak dance. The name says it all.
I am not sure which part of Pakistan does PaKpatriot1 belong to? NWFP? Sindh? Punjab? Baluchistan, Kashmir???? I never saw such a dance even existed in Pakistani society. Maybe this is the mujra, tawaif, kotha and the heera madi type of society - an evil , dark part of our society that has to be booted out with full force + all its supporters!!!
I call all forms of such dances, exploitation of women, and their use as toys. This is not how respectable women look and act like. She belongs to India and thats where her shows would be in demand.
I absolutely agree with Islamabad. Plus most of the stuff shown on our media doesn't reflect our culture. In fact, the media is constantly transforming our cultural and moral values to secular ideas, slowly and presenting 'cake with low dose of poison in it.'

There are two Indias, the India which is a country, and India that is a culture. Im not saying we belong to India the country.
We belong to India the culture1
Pakistan does not have its own culture, it is a mix of all kinds of cultures just like the rest of the Indian subcontinent. This great melting pot of cultures that includes Persian, Arab, Indian, Afghan, even British is what we call the Indian culture.
Just simply saying were Pakistanis is meaningless, because Pakistan is a country not a culture.

Seriously, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE FOR GOD SAKES... Tell me what Pakistani culture is, a short synopisis will be highly appreciated.
So what your saying is that anything thats Hindu or non muslimis wrong, while anything thats muslims, while they are both foreign influences, is right?
If thats what your saying, perhaps we shouldnt be playing cricket, celebrating basant or even playing certain instruments because they are “Hindu”…
You know they also say the number “0” came from India, perhaps we should stop useing that aswell…
