In other words, as Sid pointed out, the thread title needs to be generalized to include every instance where such planning takes place. In that context, I can understand that some would find it hard on the child.

Where I work right now, the person I replaced was a gay guy. A gay guy so flaming gay you'd never even guess he was anything else.

I met him because I realized he works a side job as a janitor for the building where we office. Every now and then I heard him mention his son...so odd to me because here is this openly gay guy talking about his son.

Turns out...he is a gay.single.father to a 7 year old boy.

This man works I don't know how many jobs to give his son a good life. He was a planned baby through a surrogate.

My feelings towards his sexual orientation don't matter because this guy isn't Muslim. He isn't required to adhere to my faith.

But I have to say...its very sweet listening to him brag about his son the way all parents love to.
