She asked a simple question that had a very simple answer.
I can’t believe it took the number of posts it did to address it!

And no matter how ridiculous the question, it is always important to provide an answer…in a polite and courteous fashion…unless of course, there is obvious malice involved.

Finally, judgement rests in the realm of Allah. It is not our job.

It was in an article that promoted wife beating in Islam. That’s why I ask if its a correct hadith, and if its translated totally correctly.

So I don’t get it. The Prophet’s :saw:] wife stepped out of the house to follow him, and he beat her?

I have read this hadith again and again, and honestly, I don’t understand what is going on. What does the following part mean? “He called me and he concealed it from you. I responded to his call, but I too concealed it from you (for he did not come to you), as you were not fully dressed.”

I’m seriously confused as to why the Prophet :saw: ] would touch/hit Aisha
] in a way that would cause her pain, as the hadith plainly indicates it caused her pain. I don’t understand WHAT she did wrong that he tried to discipline her?

I got this from a clearly weird site that was manipulating the hadith, and hence why I posted it. To find out what the real deal is, since this website was ENCOURAGING muslims to beat their wives and trying to prove how there is nothing wrong with wife beatings.

I still am not understanding what the exact reason of the beating was? If you can even call it a beating, or a “poke” as someone else said. And there are loads of Quranic ayahs that command you directly not to beat your wife, so I’m assuming this was a light tap or something to admonish Ayesha ]. What I don’t get is what was the admonishment for? For running outside?

What did anyone say to give you that Idea? If this hadith is true, then hitting your wife on the chest is not haraam and is not wife-beating? Or is it? Or is the hadith wrong, or is the interpretation not what it seems?

Still, no one can tell me WHY Aisha ] was beaten, or tapped, or whatever you want to call it. I don’t see what action she did was WRONG. ?
