Is this Hadith True?

**SAHIH MUSLIM Book 004, #2127: **
…When it was my turn for Allah’s Messenger to spend the night with me, he turned his side, put on his mantle and took off his shoes and placed them near his feet, and spread the corner of his shawl on his bed and then lay down till he thought that I had gone to sleep. He took hold of his mantle slowly and put on the shoes slowly, and opened the door and went out and then closed it lightly. I covered my head, put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper, and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi’. He stood there and he stood for a long time. He then lifted his hands three times, and then returned and I also returned. He hastened his steps and I also hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came (to the house) and I also came (to the house). I, however, preceded him and I entered (the house), and as I lay down in the bed, he (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O 'Aisha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?…

Re: Is this Hadith True?

Re: Is this Hadith True?

Provide the link where you got it from....

Re: Is this Hadith True?

It was in an article that promoted wife beating in Islam. That's why I ask if its a correct hadith, and if its translated totally correctly.

So I don't get it. The Prophet's wife stepped out of the house to follow him, and he beat her?

Re: Is this Hadith True?

Beat her?
Which article? Where was this article published? Which publication? Name of the author? Date?

Re: Is this Hadith True?

Here’s the rest of the hadith that was left out…

I don’t think the message of the Hadith was focused on hitting your wife.

Re: Is this Hadith True?

Jazakallah khair for posting the full hadith. It really puts things in proper light.

Re: Is this Hadith True?

for you and me it does, however, for people like PCG it does not.

Re: Is this Hadith True?

Thanks for the clarification phatima. Just goes to show, how easily words can be twisted to confuse the ignorant.......

Re: Is this Hadith True?

Oh dear god, you honestly consider that a beating? Do you even know what spousal abuse is? Do you know what a "beating" is? Did she fall down winded? Did she have anything broken, or any kind of mark?

He poked (SINGULAR) her in the chest because she was doing something fundamentally dangerous.

Re: Is this Hadith True?

PCG tum ko to tumhaara shohar shabashi ki thapki de ga to shayed tum us ke liye bhee us ko court me ghaseeto gee… :nono:

Re: Is this Hadith True?

I think PCG just looks for anti Islamic bull**** and posts... are you really someone from "muslim" background PCG?

As far as I see and ever since im on gupshup... that is what I have observed.

Why do I say that? Just look around:

-controversial posts / threads
-weak or no aqeedah at all
-issues related to aqeedah have no meaning or importance
-belitting islamic figures
-taking serious issues so lightly
-post anti-islamic bs and then expecting answers
-then defending those anti-islamic notions!

List goes on as I have only observed the above so far.

Re: Is this Hadith True?

^^ but it is good that GS has such members. It helps us understand what to expect from ignorant people.

Re: Is this Hadith True?

she shouldnt have left the house if she was not fully dressed

Re: Is this Hadith True?

I don't think prophet had any issues with that as far as I can read in the hadith... tum log apni auratoon ka khiyaal rakho.

Re: Is this Hadith True?

is it appropriate to leave the house when you are not fully dressed? simple yes or no answer would be nice

Re: Is this Hadith True?

Sheraz, no where in the hadith it says that she left the house without being fully dressed....

Re: Is this Hadith True?

there is no shia trick
i read:
She said: Whatsoever the people conceal, Allah will know it. He said: Gabriel came to me when you saw me. He called me and he concealed it from you. I responded to his call, but I too concealed it from you (for he did not come to you), as you were not fully dressed.

didnt she see him "outside" ?

Re: Is this Hadith True?

If you are going to mislead people, at least do it intelligently by reading the whole thread first. The hadith simply states that Gabriel (AS) CALLED on him in the room with Aisha (RA) lying next to him and kept it concealed because she was not fully dressed (which she is allowed to do in the privacy of her home) . GABRIEL (AS) then CAME to him while he was outside. Calling on him and coming to him are two different things Gabriel did at two differnt times.
This is from PCG's original post. When she followed him out, she did the following.
I covered my head, put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper, and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi'
Pray tell us how was she not properly dressed?

Re: Is this Hadith True?

i read the 2nd part but should have combined both parts to eliminate the confusion....got busy at work...honest mistake
