can indians do anything straight? This kind pervasive interest in patients by doctors can lead to a lifetime ban in a lawful country.

As my name suggests, I have been a long time hoverer - I read threads rather than replying and contributing. I feel I need to speak up here, as I feel the OP is being cornered for no obvious reason.
I am a doctor in the U.K., and have been for a good few years. Our regulatory body takes a dim view of doctor/patient relationships where it may seem the doctor is using/abusing their position of authority and influence.
Factors to consider here are:
- you were never the person’s doctor while she was in hospital
- she is not your current patient, and is unlikely to become one
- you are not gaining financially/perversely from this friendship
If our regulatory bodies were to prevent us befriending anyone that may come into our workplaces, we’d have very few people we’d ever be able to interact with!
As things stand here in Britain, from what you’re saying, I see no reason for this friendship to be ‘illegal’. I find your desire to help someone new rather commendable - I struggle to find time to do anything!
If you are concerned, I would suggest you phone your medical defence union/organisation and obtain reliable advice that is fully applicable to you, your situation and your environment.
