Picking and choosing, huh? Very selective indeed! If the whim and desire were to be obeyed, one would be submitting and surrendering to ones own weakness, paving the way for shaytaan.

Simply because you cannot comprehend the understanding behind the hadeeth, does not make it "fishy". I sincerely suggest that you learn some Arabic, then you shall insha'Allaah be able to seperate the fish from the lobsters.

They're still being used becuz we live in a male-dominated society.
[/quote]

They're still being used because they are authentic ahadeeth. If Yusuf - alayhi salaatu wa sallam - had followed his desires by allowing himself to be seduced by Aziz's wife, even though at that instant situation he was 'female-dominated', would it have been permissible for him to do so? Of course not! His eemaan was so high that he preferred prison than to what the women were inviting him to.

It is fine to complain about 'male-domination', but when you are weak in eemaan, there will always be something to cry about and disobey Allaah's commands. If the Deen was based on personal opinions, Yusuf (as) would not have asked refuge in Allaah from the evil he was led to face. He would simply have inclined himself toward the evil. But because he was from the believers, he feared Allaah and followed His Commandments.

It has nothing to do with 'male-domination' and 'female-domination', but it has all to do with sincerity.

sincerity kahan se aa gayi?

please refer to the article I had posted under Thread titled "Dear PyariCgudia".

After reading that , please provide some counter-arguments to validate the hadith invalidated in the article.

dear all,
salaam,

So now, would you say that men ought to stop doing calculus in front of women, so that we dont get turned on?
And YES I've met other girls too who have the same turn on!

filhaal:
it is quite a coincidence that over the last two weeks i have been reading a book on CALCULUS!!the most interesting part were on Newton's iterative procedure, and especially the chapter on hyperbolic functions as they are used in the field of Quantum physics is very nice!!
But after reading this post that certain people (cq ladies) "...get turned on....", i am wondering whether i should carry on........ has someone a hadith on this one.

BTW a very interesting book from a MATHEMATICAL point of view, so please do not get me wrong!!

quote:
It is said in hadith...that when a girl and boy are together...the third being present there is Shaytaan.

filhaal:
shaytaan is always present to lead people astray irrespective whether you alone with a girl or boy, or at any other place!!

the basic point is your OWN morals and code of conduct!!

quote:
I hope you will add him back in
list of Sunni Muslims

filhaal:
"sunni muslim" what is that??
GOD is saying that we should be Muslims (SUBMITTERS)!!

these categorizations into "sunni" muslims "shia" muslims is a MAN-MADE Innovation!!

yes you are right, these are all man made 'sects', praising one line or the other to follow. to each its own. we ought to follow what Prophet Ibrahim AH followed, and so did Prophet Mohammed PBUH.

May Allah SWT guide us all towards right and help us follow the right

these categorizations into “sunni” muslims “shia” muslims is a MAN-MADE Innovation!!

Very True!!!

We are not worthy of saying that shias are wrong or sunnis are wrong, in their beliefs. And yet so many out here just dont understand that.

BTW Filhaal, very funny about the calc book. I was actually very serious in my confession

dear all, salaam,

dear PCG,

filhaal:
i did not say this to hurt your feelings, but
i am very serious, too!!
do not think that i am trying to impress you, or anyone else here for that matter.
i am just saying that it is a coincidence that over the last few weeks i was and still am reading a book on this subject, and you happen to bring this up in this thread!!

BTW i always wondered why the great minds like Einstein, Newton, Heisenberg, Pauli, Galileo, Hawking and of course Abdus Salaam etc.etc. spent hours working on mathematical problems, but i did not know that it was that "exciting"................sorry, this is a joke!!(probably a bad one)

quote:
these categorizations into "sunni" muslims "shia" muslims is a MAN-MADE Innovation!!

filhaal:
the MAJOR point is not what you believe, but In fact how you bring your beliefs into PRACTICE!!
the shia and sunni beliefs are just two ways in which a person can try to get close to GOD and receive GOD's mercy, but they are not THE way!!
this is the problem many have in understanding!! but i think that we are getting away from the original topic!!

quote:
"I simply said it was haraam..to talk to non-mehrams.."

filhaal:
these kinds of statements show that some people do not understand what this world is about!!
there will always be interaction between people on work, home, social gatherings or even gupshup etc....
talking to a non-mehram per se is not wrong or bad, but the intentions with which you approach such a person. If you approach every non-mehram on the street from a purely sexual point of view then it is absolutely wrong!!

wasalaam

If i were to assess the article, regardless of what i say, you would still be following your whims and desires. So what is the point? I cannot see anything that will emotionally balance you before engaging myself in another discussion with you!
