The resemblance to kuffar is a thing to learn properly and then to talk upon. The food that Allah has made permissible to eat can be eaten in either way cooked because its not something depicting your life style. Festivals are depicting lifestyle and so Muslim’s lifestyle should show that they are Muslims and our prophet SAW has advised us to do so, still I see how people have guts to talk against Him ahhhhh

Prophet SAW never said to leave our muslim countries and prefer to move to the land of KUFFAR (when there are numerous established muslim countries) to raise our social status,professional degrees,‘better’ future for our children and to fill our hunger from the money earned after working for/helping the KUFFAR from the money given by kuffar,did he ? We help in economy of these KUFFAR by purchasing their products,watching their movies yet have guts to tell people they resemble kuffar when they are cooking food for their family on public holiday ?

Has he stopped anyone? Because you are living in Muslim country so you can say that? By living in western country and practising on Islam in itself a big virtue and thats not my words (ulema say). if you are working in a non muslim state and adhering to your Islamic values you are giving dawah to the kuffars and going with this intention is in itself rewarding. Im not here to discuss that what intention have I in living in these countries but my husband as a doctor working with his beard get many kuffars inspired by our deen. And he is not alone who is portraying Islam peacefully but many others around us. In fact Ulema encourage thee educated and people stick to Islamic values to propagate deen in such manner. And you what Kaafirs are Humans before being Kafirs and the stance/subject matter you put is totally different than what is being under discussion. Ulema refrian us from celebrating those festivals that are not part of Islam its as simple as it is. The money being earned after working is the money that you earn by your hardwork. Do you dont use any of the products by jews, christians? Our prophet has even trade ties with jews!!! I nowhere declared anyone Kaafir if someone is cooking on thanksgiving just very humbly i put my views but again i would say that living in west, people have adapted the festivals but not their manners

Who told you that I have lack of happiness in my life and who gave you this authority to tell that Muslims like me who have objection n GHAIR MUSLIM TEHWAAR want to destroy the others. In first place you WESTERNIZED people are telling me to stop judging you people just because they are cooking turkey but on other side you are quite judging me and that too through such bad sarcastic views. What I am trying to say is simply that people who live in a borrowed culture, eat foods from a borrowed culture, etc etc etc cannot point fingers at anyone else. Muslims apne hi logon pe ungliyan uthatay hein…kyun ke ye in ke liye asan hai. Kisi goray ke samne kabhi nahin bolengay. Darte hein.

I have issues with anyone who thinks its okay to judge another Muslim. No matter what.

Faith is a personal issue and relationship with Allah swt. Kisi ko koi haq nahin banta ke apne fellow Muslims pe baatein banaye. Chahey vo koi bhi ho…kyun? Kyun ke itni auqaat nahin hai…na apki aur na meri.

Shia Muslims, Sunni Muslims, Western Muslims, so called better Muslims (like the ones in this thread), blah blah blah. I do have issues with anyone who points fingers at Western Muslims OR at any other type of Muslim. Because you or anyone posting in this thread is NO BETTER. We sin, we commit gunah, we disobey Allah swt. Koi hai jo kehsakta hai ko vo gunah gaar nahin hai? Kisi ki himmat hai itni?

Aur culture khaaney peeney sey nahin waeh hota, yeh lifestyle sey hota hai khana peena jiska hissa hai. Khaney peeney say kisi kee mushaabehat nahin hoti. is farq ko identify kerna zaroori hai. We have been forbidden to be alike the kuffars in following their wearing, festivals and the eveident lifestyle that do not show from anywhere that they are Muslims aur bas. We can eat turkey as long as authentic halal butcher is doing for us. We can eat fast food if its halal as whatsoever food is not ijaradaari of anyone and the way it cooked does not prescribe a specific lifestyle nor it gives resemblance to kuffars. What is permissible kindly dont make it impermissible by stirring a discussion over this forum just for the sake of criticism

I may have generalized a bit but I guess I am tired of defending something that doesn’t need defending. Its Thanksgiving, we had dinner…hoo haa.

Insaan sirf Pakistan mein hi nahin…poori duniya mein hein. Who said Pakistani culture is the only culture or even the best?

Who says you have to defend it. From the looks of it the debate isn’t going anywhere anyway. You aren’t going to give up thanksgiving and the people who’re against it won’t adopt it overnight. They might if they’re living out here in North America, once their kids push them to celebrate it, but you defending it sure won’t make them.

Yeah it seems like it when you go out of your way to tell someone in typical Pakistani drama style that…jee…hum to ye waaaastran culture ki batein achi nahin samajte.

Not sure what the point is behind talking as if you’re doing sawab ka kaam by not eating that day…aur vo bhi suna suna ke…lol. Not sure why people post pretending as if they’ve discovered some secret values that will guarantee them Jannah or are more righteous or pious. Not sure what people expect from us. Can someone explain why it’s necessary to comment on things others enjoy just because you can’t?

I don’t think I can understand the way someone born and raised in Pakistan feels about Pakistani culture because I have no such attachments. Similarly, this culture could never be understood by a newly migrated person liked queen or others because there’s no background or familiarity.
