Is Sura Fatiha part of Quran ?

I was watching this programe on Aaj tv and some caller asked this question to religious scholar, I could not hear the answer because stupid host said that time is over and they would answer this question in their next programe

Anyone has an idea ?

Yes, SUrah Fatiha is a dua, a dua by the believer as a response to which Allah has gifted the entire Qur'an, but it is indeed part of the Qur'an as we know it.

It is, it was the first full suraa that was revealed on prophet though 5th in real order.

I know that there is or was a valid arguement amngst scholars and some used to think that its a Dua or a prologue and not actual part of Quran

everything in Quran is a part of Quran.
Dont forget that Allah has taken the responsibility of protecting Quran, and He is doing it for 1400 years now, subhaan Allah. Surah Fatiha is still found in the most ancient collections of Quran. and if u believe that Allah is protecting it then u sould believe that everything in it is a part of it and noone can add or remove anything from it.

Yes, surat-e- fatiha is the first surat that was revealed and is in the Quran. It has always been.

Maybe the basis of this question lies in the following verse of holy quran where these seven verses (Al-fatiha) and noble quran is mentioned seperately

Sura Hijr, verse 87

And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur’an. {15-87}(Yousef)

^ separate mention is to show its importance not to show that its not part of the Quran....

just like when it is said in the Quran (in Surah Al-Qadr)
"The angels and Jibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair"
it does not mean that Jibreel is not one of the angels....

There has been an argument among ulema about Bismillah being part of Surah a Fatiha or not. This is the first time I came to know about this argument of Surah A Fatiha being part of Quran or not.

In the beginning of the Book of Tafsir, in his Sahih, Al-Bukhari said; "It is called Umm Al-Kitab, because the Qur’an starts with it and because the prayer is started by reciting it.‘’

It was also said that it is called Umm Al-Kitab, because it contains the meanings of the entire Qur’an.

Ibn Jarir said, "The Arabs call every comprehensive matter that contains several specific areas an Umm. For instance, they call the skin that surrounds the brain, Umm Ar-Ra’s.

They also call the flag that gathers the ranks of the army an Umm.‘’ He also said, "Makkah was called Umm Al-Qura, (the Mother of the Villages) because it is the grandest and the leader of all villages. It was also said that the earth was made starting from Makkah.‘’

Other names for Sura al Fatiha is: “Mother of the Qur’an”, “the Mother of the Book”, and “the seven repeated Ayat of the Glorious Qur’an”
