Cigarettes, cigars,‘sheesha, or tobacco smoking were not available or prevalent at the time of the Revelation of the Quran, thus there is no specific mention of tobacco smoking in the Quran or the Sunnah. Thus now it is upto the jurists and the scholars in Islam to come to a consensus regarding its ruling and verdict in light of the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah.
Very weak argument and it indirectly suggests that (nauz-e-billah) Allah had a limited knowledge of it's creations.
There are many many realities that were not present at that time but Quran still talks about them. Some are still not present but Quran and authentic books of Ahadees still talk about them repeatedly, ie: Qayama, Angels, Imam Mehdi, Dajjal, Hazrat Esa's (PBUH) coming back to world as Prophet Mohammad's ummati etc.
If tobaco was meant to be Haram, Allah would have mentioned it In Quran or prophet Mohammad (PBUH) would have indicated it somewhere....
I seriously don't think it's a religious issue, health issue, yes.
