Common sense != change of Islam bro. If the scholor is speaking from other point of view that Smoking is makrooh (Allah ko na pasand) because it kills you slowly then it will make sense. In total haraam means you are doing something and getting paid for it. Committing a sin and being written down for it. So 2 almost the same things with different results.
I wouldnt even consider taking words from average joe.
The only person I might take words from is Dr. Zakir Nayek because he speaks from every point of view. Not just one.
Biddat is something you are bringing new to Islam. Biddatiz are outcasters of Islam. For example Ahmadies are Biddaties because they believe something completely different and have their own Quran editions (Tobah nAuzubillah.)
Even though Dr Zakir is a very good speaker but he’s not an alim and takes fatawa from the scholars but i wouldn’t go into that discussion or talk about bidda’ because that’ll be off the track…
