Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

Changing name does not low down the cruelty. well...i prefer you open a thread. many people will take me wrong if i do so.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

No, I don't have any problem with eating meat....its you who is against it....so please do it yourself.
I don't understand why people will take you wrong.......if you come up with strong and logical arguments or scientific facts or medical benefits of a non-meat-eater then no one should take you wrong.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

I think this kind of idea that music is haram comes from people who were/are not capable of undersanding music or art for that matter.
I do not think any religion specifically bans music, not even Islaam. There are many great Muslim musicians that come to mind when we talk about music. Most of them are not only great musicians but good human beings also.

If someone does not like to play or hear an instrument then don't hear or play.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

They will take me wrong coz i am not a muslim.

secondly, when u dont have any problem in killing an innocent animal and then why you have problem with music.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

then what are you doing on this forum?

We don't have a problem with eating meat bcoz God has made eating meat halal for us........

Why we should have a problem with music bcoz Prophet Muhammad(SAW) disliked music.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

I don't think you need to teach us muslims that what should we do or what we shouldn't.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

That's not a very nice answer. What if someone asked you what you are doing in the UK?

BTW, if Muhammed disliked the color blue, does than mean you have to dislike it too? If he preferred sandles over boots, does that mean God wants you to wear sandles? If he liked having many wives, should all men like having multiple wives? Is it possible that he had personal preferences or that they were based on the culture of the time? Or that even if you felt you had to imitate every one of his personal preferences, they may not be recorded accurately?

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

Hareem01 ^ Why do you listen to music then?

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

Chintu is afraid that no one will believe him......not bcoz he is a hindu but bcoz he can't prove his ' vegetarian agenda ' in any way.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

I don't.......I avoid music as much as I can.
There is no doubt in music being makruh(disliked).

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

The fact is Prophet Muhammad(SAW) didn't say that he dislikes any colour.

The fact is that We are allowed to wear .....sandles and boots.

No, There is a criteria of marriage for common man in Quran and ahadith.

Prophet Muhammad(SAW) only obeyed God and not his desires.

There is also a criteria to measure the authenticity of ahadith.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

Are you telling me every single thing Muhammed liked was God ordained? He didn't have any personal preferences or habits? He wasn't a robot, he had emotions and choices. And he had habits and prefences way before God ever revealed anything to him at age 40.

For the things not revealed in the Quran, when exactly did God convey everything he wanted Muhammed to do that should become part of what every subsequent human should follow? And if God revealed these things to Muhammed as his orders, why aren't they in the Quran instead of being left up to the inexact science of deciphering hadith?

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

I think he is telling you there are different interpretation of Islam because there are many who don't follow the school of thought that music is disliked. There are different opinions even though there are interpreatoins, opinion, scholars, fatwas, tradition and those who follow them blindly present them as facts.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

Yes, Prophet(SAW) did have choices and emotions.......but he was a Prophet so he was obedient to God more than common people.
Even before the Prophethood he was known as Saadiq and Amin. truthful and honest.
And in the end It is God who has ordered us to follow his Messenger(SAW).

Do you believe what is in the Quran?

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

There are two opinions.....one is music is Haram other is its only Makruh.

I haven't heard any other opinion by scholars....if you have or narayan has then please post it with the reference.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

And the opinion of many is that this has been interpreted too literally and broadly to incorporate his personal preferences and the culture of the time.

But still, I have always wondered, if what God revealed to Muhammed was put into the Quran, when were all these other things that Muhammed (and all the subsequent literalists) followed revealed to him as God's wishes?

No, I am speaking from the Muslim viewpoint that the Quran is the absolute, unchanged word of God.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

is anywhere mentioned that only muslims can join this forum??

why he permit killing of animal. thats my question?whats the logic behind that?

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

And whose opinion is this? Would you like to give some refs?

Qur'an is a book of Allah and Prophet Muhammad(SAW) is our teacher.....he taught us this book through his sayings and actions.

Yes, Qur'an is the absolute, unchanged word of God.

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

Hareem01, Do you watch TV or listen to radio? You really don't listen to music? Did you ever watch a dance video, knowing its a dance video and that dance video would have music in it too?

Re: Is playing a guitar really unislamic?

No, but irrelevant talk can be deleted.

Why have you got canines? Open a new thread for your question....otherwise I will not respond to your question in this thread.
