Not only MQM. There is also Islamabad Mafia. No report about them. They look partners.

Talk about things seperately …
Re: Is Pakistani Media afraid of exposing MQM ?
Do you know who is Ansar Abbasi, and which newspaper he belongs to?
It is being reported throughout the city of Karachi that** Geo News was suddenly taken off-air **during the Capital Talk show where Ansar Abbasi stated that MQM won the election due to massive rigging. This statement apparently aggravated the leadership in Karachi forcing the channel off-air in Karachi.

MQM Thugs punished ARY and GEO News
Re: Is Pakistani Media afraid of exposing MQM ?
Has any of Pakistani channel shown this clip. So called Free Channels who talk about the freedom of media can ever report this on their channels.
Re: Is Pakistani Media afraid of exposing MQM ?
It definitely is.
Its impossible that mainstream media will talk about involvement of MQM in target killings.
It rarely covers anything about corruption in MQM ministries.
It has never shown any funny parody of the way Altaf Hussein speaks, while it has done of every other politician, though he has the most laughable style.
Re: Is Pakistani Media afraid of exposing MQM ?
Its not about 1 or 2 guys discussing a party in their analysis or just in a current affairs program. Its about daily news items. People who live in Karachi very well know when something happened and where. Same story in Ummat gets published with clear names and references, while the same story gets some little coverage in Jang saying with no direct reference and name of the party. Although all media outlets specially broadcasting from karachi are very very cautious about coverage of MQM (specially after what happened on 12th may, i hope you dont forget the straight firing on Ajj TV for hours). But Jang/Geo is way ahead in this shoe licking. Its really amazing when Geo starts telecasting live telephonic khitab of bhai, which keeps on and on and on, which is not even funny most of the time. Recently they even telecasting his speech in a small “book unveiling” ceremony in Karachi (book name was “Mera Qaid” lolz now you can guess who may have written it about whom), and Altaf bhai was like “hummain sainkroon pages ki kitaboon ki zaroorat naheee hayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, choti choti likha karo” lolz and geo was the only one telecasting this live

May be they know something you don’t like MQM is not involved in target killing , there is no corruption in MQM ministries and they respect AH so much that they consider it blasphemy to make fun of AH. ![]()

Then you have not seen Ham Sab Umeed Say Hayn :)
Re: Is Pakistani Media afraid of exposing MQM ?
I have seen Hum sab Ummeed se hain, after years of objection that he never appears on that show, he has been shown in few qawalis without his trademark style of khitabat.
Re: Is Pakistani Media afraid of exposing MQM ?
^ In last few episodes atleast he is shown in other than 'qawalis', I hope they do a show on his show of crying on Dr Imran Farooq's news.

You should realize that Geo/Jang is in the business of making money. They are not as hardcore ideologists as Taliban or Roznama Ummat. They are more comparable to Nawaz Sharif and Imran.
Their head office is Karachi, so they have to listen to MQM people, who are willing to give even their own 'jaan' on the 'farmaan' of their Quaid. So if Jang does not listen to them then they will certainly take Jang people's 'jaan' too.
But in order to understand the real ideology of a paper, you need to read its editorials and look at people who write articles in the paper. And in Jang, most of these people are Jamaatis or their supporters.

I would be a happy man if some non-Jamaati/Talibanic paper could confront Jang Jamaatis. Unfortunately I see none. Nawai Waqt also seem to follow the similar Jamaati/Talibanic line.

Jang (or any other non-ideological paper as you put it) gives space for editorials to anyone who sells good, most of the time. Very rarely any non-professional writer (who's earning is not from these editorials) gets published. And I do not agree that they are Talibanic, if a person talks about our religion and tells you to do what you say and reminds you some ethics, he does not become a Taliban. We must stop miss using this word.

Kharijis
Re: Is Pakistani Media afraid of exposing MQM ?
right on DD. Taliban and Mafia both are Kharijiz from all aspects. Therefore, the fassadis dieing while on killing spree or powers supporting them are not shaheed. Its actually an attack on humanity and Islam. Be it in the name of religion or race. The only way a person can die for a cause is for Allah and Allah only. So all the headless blood-thirsty suiciders of last 5 years and lady-waist youth that died in 80s and 90s for 'manzil nahi quaid chahiyye' slogan are gone to hell. Can someone tell this to the parents in Lines Area, Liaqabat and Laandhi/Korangi where these Mafia youth come from. There are dozens of oppertunities out there to earn halal rizq and do Allah shukar than killing for manhoos kala-naag sitting in cozy home in London. It doesn't have to be a govt job (as one of the main launching point in 80s), go out like your Phattan brothers and sell something on thella. Shabaash. If you wasted your students days for APMSO, its not anybody's fault, you dawg!!! Go and earn what you deserve and live your life with shukar, there is a great chance that Allah SWT will forgive your sins and enter you in his paradise. By following kala-naag, the only place you can go is hell for sure. haqooq mile na mile, jahannum zaroor milegi.
Prophet SAW condemned racism and said, those who do discrimination are not among us.

I don't think Jang sells good due to its editorials. And if Jang's purpose of was only to select Jamaatis because they sell good then why does it keep Jamaatiye like Ansar Abbasi as reporters? Both these examples the ideological leaning of Jang group towards Jamaat. And so it makes no sense to call Jang a pro-MQM paper. It is not.
Editorial pages are not "Islamic safha". My personal opinion is that if there are some ethics to be taught then it should be taught to all those who consider themselves 'Islam ke thaykaydar'. But then this discussion has nothing to do with Jang group. And so there is no point continuing on it.
Re: Is Pakistani Media afraid of exposing MQM ?
Kharijis
People who do that are criminals.
Kharijis are those who kill people or support killing people in the name of Islam.
Re: Is Pakistani Media afraid of exposing MQM ?
How come looking at things from Islamic point of view means a person is Jamaati or 'fundamentalist as Westerns put it'? I think Islam as a way of life and complete religion does give us guidelines to follow in every aspect of life including politics and justice. So if most of the columnist have this angle in their writings, whats wrong? Didn't we sacrificed 2 Million lives for this very reason just half a century ago? Why complain if some wise people are saving this ideology. If these columinst are calling to burn down temples or churches, then come back and point that they are misguiding from the ideology of Pakistan. There is a reason why ppl don't take Hamid Gul and Zaid Hamid seriously, because they have taken it too far where most of the new generation will be lost and will support another CIA sponsored Jihad blindly as they did in 80s.
What TTP is doing to Islam is what MQM has done to civilized Muhajirs. Both are criminals.
