Re: Is Pakistan Risky for Travellers?

just have been to Pakistan, been there for 2 months. Pakistan is same full of life as it was before. there are security threats, but if you look at the history, these have been part of Pakistan life more or less. It generally safe to travel and enjoy, few areas in north remains a no safe areas, which are getting better with recent operations.

Re: Is Pakistan Risky for Travellers?

Not at all ... I am living in Pakistan alone at the moments as a girl, also travelling through Pakistan. You do not need to worry, just have to take care a little bit. Like mentioned before, Pakistan is still full of life. Traveller should come to Pakistan (they may help the economic situtation a little bit). And everything you see in the media is just highlighted ......

Hi, Are you German and living in Pakistan?

I'm Chinese and moving to Pakistan, want to get to know
some people i can go out with to explore the City.

Which area are you staying at? I'm moving to Lahore in early sep.

Re: Is Pakistan Risky for Travellers?

Pakistan is not risky for any kind of travellers we have many clients in Pakistan rite now. They feel relax in Pakistan specially in the Northern Pakistan. I am in Lahore rite now it is very interesting city, the people here are so friendly the weather is good, it is rainning outside..

Thanks a lot.

The whole world is risky, you could even walk outside your house and slip over a banana peel.

Re: Is Pakistan Risky for Travellers?

Everyone i know says its not a place to go right now.

Pakistan may be risky if someone shows off as a foreigner particularly a "gora" party or publically shows too much hatred to the locals. And assuming you are not one of these two like most of us, there is absolutely no risk at all.
Pakistanis are beautiful people no matter what and particulary very good hosts. Downside, they are very jazbati too. So forget your political affiliation here before leaving.

Re: Is Pakistan Risky for Travellers?

Hi all, I was wondering if it is safe to travel alone in northern areas like Gilgit and Hunza?

Re: Is Pakistan Risky for Travellers?

just dont trust anyone while ur here. and u'll be fine

Hey SID_NY ... what do you mean by '"particularly a "gora" party"' ... how would someone get to know if there is a gora party happening somewhere? i mean the parties of the so-called elite aren't also the most modest that they shouldn't come under speculation?

Again thanks.

more tha safe there! these are pakistans safest areas. i saw plenty of white european tourists i gilgit. im sure there would be more in hunza too.

from besham to dimaer there can be a problem with bandits on the karokoram highway especially in district kohistan - but even this is irregular and security forces oragnise vehicles tyravelling into convoys.

Re: Is Pakistan Risky for Travellers?

Thanks. I just came back from Gilgit and Hunza. I went alone and it was really more than safe there. People are very loving and caring.
